What is in your toe kick drawers?
Comments (11)Those aren't real toe kicks...they're toe homes :oP They don't count. First, I have a handle on the ones I want to use regularly. It's a deep bar handle (it matches our others) and I can literally stick my toes in it and open it easily...DH can do the same. I have 15 toe kicks, so I keep lots of stuff in them. I have placemats in the one close to the table and dining room, as well as napkins for daily use. I have trash compactor bags in another across from the TC. I have tray's in the ones near the stove, and a couple plattters in another. A couple hold fold down stools. And one is full of DH's music collection for the stereo. One has chalk, erraser and various other supplies for my DS. Oh and one holds the extra big cutting boards I'm hoping DH will forget so I can toss them. Light bulbs fit very well in them. Oh a tiny one under the sink has emergency wipes and a diaper :o) Mine added a couple hundred to the cost of the cabinets. It was well worth it!...See MoreShow me your baseboards/furniture-style moldings
Comments (19)Quiltgirl - I don't think that would be comfortable, unless you typically stand far back from the cooktop. wi-sailorgirl, here are a few I bookmarked from Houzz: [Traditional Kitchen design[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/traditional-kitchen-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_709~s_2107) by Boston Kitchen And Bath Divine Kitchens LLC [Traditional Living Room design[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/traditional-living-room-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_718~s_2107) by Toronto Kitchen And Bath Fixtures Enns Cabinetry Inc. Comments (39)Island, thank you for your enthusiastic compliments! The cabinet color is Divinity Classic. My ceiling is 99" and the upper cabs are 42" tall with 2" moulding at the top (haven't installed that yet). The glass front sections are top of the upper cabs and not a separate cabinet. We are doing our own install because we have no idea that installation was to be left to the pros. Did I say we were naive? We watched youtube videos and bought ourselves a laser leveller. It was a long process, and mistakes were made especially in the scribing department. Now, we are at the end stretches of the cabinet installation process. Thus, the question on the toe-kick and quarter round. We haven't chosen our countertop yet. As for backsplash, we are planning to do 3x6 subway tiles in white. I can't wait to see our finished kitchen, either :)...See MoreShow me your Toe-Kick Heat/AC Vent!
Comments (8)Ours is the traditional metal vent. My cabinetmaker talked about routing out a wood vent - but would have entailed using baseboard for the toe kick instead of the typical thin plywood - so we passed. We did not run the sheet metal from the floor to the front of the toe kick - the entire cabinet base acts as the vent - so fars works well. We sealed the underside of the cabinet and calked aroung the base before applying the shoe molding. Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreRelated Professionals
