I would use it in your major rooms if that color is to become your "neutral" (I've done this in several of our rooms and halls) but I'd alter it somewhat (drop down the color scale one or two notches and up the opposite way) if you're going to use that tone throughout the house.

THose kookie victorians would never have used just one color in their homes, so given your cottage's fabulous beginnings in victoriana I think it would be glaringly out of place to have a home that looks "builder beige" throughout like they do in modern homes now a days.

Your doorways look a little Moroccan to me, but I might be kooky. Maybe draw inspiration from that, or YOUR favorite colors, style of furniture, period of history, a favorite piece of art? Love your house.

My first thought was to keep most of the living area the same color, just doing the kitchen and/or the powder room hallway differently. I also might do the little hallway to the kitchen differently again -- although it looks like it would be mostly an area above the door, which might actually make for a nice little vestibule effect :)

Depending, coming in from the front foyer, your first impression and sightline, it might read as a bowling alley effect if all one color. WT panels at the French doors might alleviate some of that though, visually bringing the room forward. I might do the foyer a different color too.

But we do a lot of 'white' walls in this area, so one color always makes sense to me :) Not familiar with Honeycomb or how intense a color it is though.

Personally, I think it's really OK to repeat the same color a lot, because the color will look so different from one room to another. Because of light quality/temperature, accessories, etc.

That honeymoon color is really lovely.

I think there was a similar house in a tour on ApartmentTherapy/SF.

Personanlly, one color would bore me, but variations on a color family might feel unifying and yet add some variety.

We painted the majority of our house the same color (SW Blonde) with the exception of smaller rooms, like foyer and baths, which are a deeper shade (Mannered Gold) and could not be happier. We chose to be more creative with our granite selections, floors, window treatments, etc. and the paint color serves as a beautiful canvas to all.

Sometimes, if you're not careful, too many paint colors tend to "chop up" the appearance of a home, and your guests notice the paint color more than your home.

I used one color on my first level with the exception of the powder room. (And it was pretty close in color.) I actually agree with igloochic (which is unusual.)

I met with the builder today and we talked a lot about colours and transitions. I now understand how he will do the transitions across the bullnosed casings, so I can play with colour a little more. So now I am planning to use variations on Honeymoon and on Elemental/Refined (in the heathered green family). Still haven't decided on a master bedroom colour yet though ...

Thank you all for your compliments on my humble little home. This is going to be a big week - floor refinishing, painting, kitchen cabinet arrival, bathroom tiling ... :-) I will bore you all with pictures when done.

Please post pictures after you have it painted. I've only seen Honeymoon once before and I'd love to see how it looks in your house.

I looked up the color, it's beautiful. I love interiors with the same neutral throughout...... it let's the artwork and detailing stand out.

Well I took y'all's advice on board, discussed colours with the builder and painters, and decided to use several different colours through the house. I chickened out a little on using Honeymoon in the kitchen (and backed it off to the lighter Safari), but saved it for the living room. I checked in yesterday afternoon to see how the painting was coming along. I walked in the front door, and ... wow. Just ... wow. Honeymoon is FABULOUS.

Mind you, easter egg lemon yellow is being painted over, so this is quite a departure.

The mantel is Barrista in satin finish.

This was only one coat, they will do the second coat today.

Ceilings are Mascarpone. Bear in mind that all these pics were taken in the early evening, they are more lively in person. Hard to capture in a photo :-(
