what color hardware goes with golden granite?

I'm upating my kitchen with antique white cabinets, and realize I love the gold tones in granite but keep looking at granite because I don't want to use use antique bronze, or oil rubbed hardware since that is what I have in my kitchen now with the old oak cabinets I hate. I want my kitchen to be traditional, and beautiful, but am afraid that I can't used brushed nickle with granite that is golden? Do you think I should just go with the granite I like best, and worry about the hardware later? (the bathroom I re did originally had oil rubbed hardware with a copper stall shower). I need to decide on my granite quickly, my time is running out!

I am finding myself attracted to the new "gold" finishes. I think Amerock is calling it brushed bronze. I'll attach a link to their catalog. Scroll through it, you will find them. It might be just what you are looking for. And then again, you may hate it!

My first question is what do you like?

Do you love the look of brushed nickle?
Or Oil Rubbed Bronze? Or even brass?

If you love brushed nickle, of course it will look lovely.
People mix metals all the time, I think to avoid
the matchy match look.

Here is a backsplash we did for a customer. FT Light Travertine with Santa Cecilia granite. Since SC comes in more gold, beige or light colors, it all depends on the slab you pick out whether it will work with certain tiles. Same with Giallo Ornamental. We have 4 samples of GO here, all with a different base color. That dang natural stone is so... natural!! :) Good luck. If I find any more examples of SC backsplash ideas, I'll let you know...

Agree that a picture or description of your other kitchen elements would help. I have always had a double sink but DD talked me into getting a super single. I have the Blanco black and it doesn't show water spots. At the end of each day I take a microfiber cloth or sponge to dry the sink. Every now and then I add a little mineral oil to make it shine. This sink is one of my most favorite things about the kitchen. Would never go back to double bowl sink of any size. Wanted black to go with my granite, etc. and didn't like the shiny black porcelain sink from Kohler. Didn't want stainless as I can't live with the scratches that will appear no matter how careful you are. The silgranit was an unknown but it's a treasure. LOVE IT!!! Whatever you decide, I strongly recommend getting a stainless sink grid. Another great decision from knowledge gained on this forum.

All the colors on the strip provided by Lisa are beautiful. So warm and vibrant. I'm using a green tinged cream called A Beautiful Beige by BH&G in my kitchen. But my counters are Wilson Art Madera Gold, which has a lot of pale limeish green. I gather numerous color samples when I'm choosing paint, disregarding who makes the color. Paint chips are coded so that Sherwin Williams mixed my paint from a Behr color chip.

My last house had cherry cabinets and we did a granite called Sovereign Copper-pulled the warm tones from the cabinets and was mid range price. My house we built recently has Bianca Antico and that looks good with white cabinets but not sure I’d put it with cherry.

Brushed nickel is very warm and has a subtle golden color to it for the most part. Compare these finishes in a plumbing supply store and you will see what I mean. Take a small sample of a granite you like with you.

Thank you all so much! It's not that I don't like antique brass, I think I was afraid to use anything in my new kitchen that would remind of this kitchen. I special ordered a chandelier so that I could have it in antique brass for my dining room. The primary color of my living room is gold, and I have gold in my den too, both these rooms are off my kitchen. Amazing that I was shying away from gold for my countertops. Part of my problem has been trying to get something that would go well with gold, but not be gold! I really do like the idea of "gold" in my countertops, and weather I use brushed nickel or antique brass for my hardware is something I will figure out when my cabinets and countertops are in.
