Have you considered a schoolhouse pendant? They are very eye-catching and unique compared to the little glass pendants that have been so popular for the past few years. They also give a warm, diffused glow, not the bare-bulb piercing light that some of the little ones throw off. Also, with a 6' peninsula, you may want to consider two more generously-sized pendants instead of three or so 'mini' pendants, depending on the look you're going for and the amount of other light available to you in the room. I found a single chain pendant for you that comes in several finishes you may want to check out. It's on the rejuvenation lighting site and the item no. is AA3522, the Baldwin. It comes in a copper finish but also a rubbed bronze that may be nice with your sink. With a 6' peninsula you may want to consider two of these (hint - cut out two circles the diameter of the light you're considering and place them on your peninsula to get an idea how much space they're going to take up) Don't go too small or they will look kind of sparse for the space. We have two Hudson Valley Pelham Pendants above our island. We cannot seem to remove the retaining ring to access the lightbulb. We have tried everything. Does anyone know if there is a trick to this? The installation manual is not helpful. Thanks!

Thank you for finding these! Definitely a bit more than I wanted to spend... but I'm really not finding alternatives. If anyone has suggestions I'm all ears. My criteria are really hard though: 1) I do not want visible bulbs. If I can see a bulb, it is out... I hate all of the "lantern" looks... its not what I want for my house 2) BUT I do not want a fabric shade. I have animals and cleaning fabric that's hanging from the ceiling seems like a nightmare. So, it needs to be glass or acrylic or the like. Kitchen hardware will be brushed nickel and the design is transitional... The Houzz community is amazing so curious to see if someone turns up something I can't find!
