I also chose to do white paint (with white tile) in a new bathroom remodel. The bathroom is average sized, but has no windows. I think it's a personal preference as to what color (or lack of color) looks best. And it all depends on what "feeling" you want from the room. I think Sweeby is right that a deep paint color would be dramatic (and possibly cozy and warm, depending on the color) and have a very pleasant feeling. I wanted an open, crisp, clean feel and had no desire for cozy or warm. Though I'm not done with the remodel, so far I'm very pleased with the color. I'm not certain that I can give you specific colors to try, but I can tell you how I selected mine. I took every single white paint chip home from the store and sat down with the paint chips and my tile. I then sorted through the "definitely nots" (whites that had too much yellow, pink, blue, green, etc) and narrowed down to a few that I really liked. I then really held them up to the tile I'm using to see how the colors played off of each other. My concern was that I did not want the tile or the paint to look "dirty" due to an unflattering contrast. I ended up selecting Ralph Lauren "Grand" because I felt it best complimented the color of the tile. Unfortunately I don't think the color I selected fits your "clear but creamy". But I do highly recommend grabbing as many paint chips as you can and holding them against the materials you have selected until you find one that compliments the room.

The Sweet Caroline is really pretty once it's up - I'm using it in my new baby's nursery now I liked it so much. Her room is still in progress (as is the girls' bathroom). I think it would go really in your 6-year old's room with the Betsy comforter, and it's a slightly more "mature" color so might work better with an older child. I have two girls (4 and 5 mos.) - it sounds like we're kind of doing the same thing in terms of linking their rooms. The baby has green (Sweet Caroline), 4 year old has the pink room, and the Jack-and-Jill bathroom in between is a blue-grey color (Sherwin Williams North Star - SW 6246). I did hex tiles on the floor, too, but with black accents. I decided to go a little more neutral with the bathroom since both the girls' rooms are pretty theme-y (once I finally finish them!). Aren't little girls fun?! Between decorating and buying cute clothes, though, I'm going broke, LOL. That shower curtain is pretty intense. Are you sure you want to keep it? It's just a little "precious" for older girls with that much pink, IMHO. The only color that I think could stand up to it with older girls would be a pretty bright orange, and try for a Morroccan casbah look with even more pattern and color and brass hanging lanterns and screens. Layer a cobalt blue curtain under the pink and use some metallic chains for the tieback for the pink curtain. Paint the ceiling turquoise. You can get some talavera or Turkish tiles on Ebay and frame them for an accent. If you have a drop in sink, you could replace it with a talavera one. They aren't that expensive and give lots of style. Cobalt blue bath accessories and rug with other hints of turquoise and pink here and there and it would be fab. As an alternqative, I could definately see doing a fun apple green and white bathroom, but not with that curtain. For green and white, use the chair rail/wainscoating approach and put the green below with white above. A fresh gingham check or ticking stripe for the shower curtain and add in more color with different shades of green towels. A dark green rug and various green accessories would complete the look.

orb = oil rubbed bronze My woodlawn bedroom is northeast facing so the light is not strong. It looks blue in the morning and greener late in the day and when the lights are on. I expect using a cooler color bulb would bring out the blue. With a small vanity you can go looking for a left over piece of stone for the counter top. Get an undermount sink to match the toilet. Check out Mirror Mate. They make custom cut frames that adhere to the existing mirror and look great for a modest price. I think the woodlawn would work well with the browns in the floor and vanity. You could also consider going with a green shade like BM Misted Green.
