Under mount Sink Width Confused?

Hello,

I am installing soapstone counters and a single bowl, stainless steel under mount sink. I am concerned about fitting the sink and a faucet on my 25 inch counters (minus one inch for a tile backslash).

Can anyone give me some guidance on how calculate the space needed for under mount sink, faucet, clearance to the wall and to the edge of the counter? I feel like I must be calculating something incorrectly?

I estimated that I would need about 3 inches from the backsplash to the faucet, 1.5 inches for the facet hole, 2 inches from the faucet to the sink and at least 2 inches clearance from the sink to the edge of the counter top.

With that in mind, I would need a sink that is 15.5 inches in width or smaller (exterior width). This has greatly limited my options and leaves me with a very small sink.

Thanks in advance!
