question about door hardware

We're in the midst of an addition on our old house. My DH is re-habbing a wonderful old exterior door to lead from the kitchen to the screened porch.

Our door hardware is an antique Eastlake set from ebay (I LOVE ebay) and the face plates are not the same configuration for the interior as the exterior. On one side, there is a single plate with a hole for the doorknob and two key holes. On the other side, there is a round rosette for the doorknob and a separate small plate with a single keyhole. So here's our question: which is supposed to go on the outside of the door and which goes on the inside? And what is the extra keyhole for?

Help please!!! Thanks!
