It's a tough decision, and you have my sympathy. We had something similar happen and in hindsight, we should have sent it back the day of installation rather than letting them fix it. They dinged & scratched one of the french doors on our fridge. We agreed to a replacement door instead of the cash offer or replacing. My husband didn't want to risk more damage to our new bamboo floors, which they also did. The 2nd door came damaged, and after it was installed the ice maker & water only work after opening & closing a door every time you want water. We are lucky to get any ice. I demanded a new fridge after that repair, they said no, have to try to fix it again. Tomorrow the 3rd door & new ice maker get installed. If this works, we will keep it and also accept the 5 year extended service/warranty plan they offered. If not, I'm going to have to fight for a new one. No one can promise a new one won't get damaged the same way. They sent an artist to repair our floors with filler & paint to match the grain. Good luck with your decision!

I know this is very old, but I found it b/c I just received my second damaged acrylic tub and was searching the internet to see if I should cut bait on this type of tub. Apparently, these tubs are notorious for getting damaged during shipping. I think it's almost impossible to know "who" is responsible and also I'm not even sure damage is always caused by someone doing something wrong. From what I'm hearing, it's sort of like having rain on your wedding day. Not really anyone's fault. Just sort of bad luck. BUT the real lesson is to inspect it soon after delivery b/c both times it has been caught b/c my contractor sent someone over to inspect it as soon as I let him know it had been delivered. He did this b/c of his experience with this problem.

Exactly my feeling. No they did not give them to me even though I requested that they provide them. The worst thing is I had no idea they were removed so my GC and his plumber are moving the thing around on a dolly tilted up - definitely what SQ says not to do. The Kid, I say that as he is very young and has worked there for 9 months and obviously is in need of training both in service and customer service told me "we do not deliver things we remove and throw away" They can't seem to understand that they were NEVER supposed to remove them in the first place nor throw them away . Extemely poor service from my perspective. Their preferred warranty company is supposedly authorized by Speed Queen but not listed as first on the SQ list of servicers for this area. I plan on writing to the store manager, one of the family owners of the business. How much that will do, you can probably guess Definitely, probably not a store I will be buying furninture or tiles or anything in the future. Dadoes says I'm probably OK. If Viking is replacing the fridge, don’t you own the one in your kitchen right now? Do they want it back? I guess I don’t understand why the retailer wants your money and the broken fridge. It seems like the broken fridge would be returned to Viking, unless they don’t want it back. And what on awful retailer, you paid for a new fridge and received a damage one. It may not have been their fault, but they are making the process unreasonably complicated with their demands. Terrible customer service. When this is over, you should definitely review them publicly. This is the type of information I would find very valuable when deciding on a retailer. Accidents and problems do happen to a business, how they handle these situations is a very good indicator of their customer service.
