Miss Kitty, I am so sorry about your ducks. I know exactly how you feel except dogs get my chickens and rabbits. Makes me furious. It has been really nice here the last few days temp wise. We got a lot of rain Saturday night. Over an inch. But the temps have been more springlike. Well, tonight spring is over. It is back to the 30s. Just when my fingers were getting all itchy to dig in the dirt. LOL. I am gettting so ready to start my garden. But everytime I think that; the temps drop again and then all I want to do is try to stay warm. My incubator is still going good. Next Monday is supposed to be hatch day. Sure hope some of them hatch. I will be so disappointed if they don't but will just try again. I am a stubborn woman. One of my neighbors is saving up eggs already to start another batch as soon as these are done. Looks like I may incubating all spring. Our rabbits have fooled us again. We thought they were bred but NOT. None of them have kindled so far. We have three that should be due tomorrow so we will see. Found out that one of the does isn't a doe after all. We had check them time and again but missed that one. Was bought for a doe but turns out I got nine does and four bucks. We have bred the two of them that should have kindled the 26-27th. I know this time they were bred. If they don't have babies this time we have sterile bucks. I am still considering whether I want more goats or not. I sure would like to have some for milking. Some to drink, make cheese (If I can learn to make cheese) and to use making soap. Hubby and I are still discussing where we need to put them. With the dogs running around here like they are the goats would not be too safe unless they are in a very sturdy pen or fence or several strands of electric fencing. My sister and her hubby are in to raising cattle right now. They have several little bull calves. We are discussing buying one of their bull calves to raise for freezer meat. So if I get the calf I don't know about goats right now. We have to come to that decision in the next month. I don't want to get in too much and have a bad flare up of fibromyalga and not be able to care for them. That would too much extra on Hubby after working all day. Especially as stressful as his job is this year. I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Jan

Wow I am so glad to read it all went well...Shooo My heart sank for a minute...He will be all healed for college this fall..:)) You empty nester dont go through what I went through...Stay busy and call them alot... I miss my kids so much it hurts sometimes... Dogs are okay but they cant replace our true babies...I love reading about chell and her boys... It makes me smile so much... I love chippies...They are so cute...Havent had many around with a cat now...Kiki has brought home two gardener snakes...He was very proud of himself... Yesterday I was getting ready to go out and play in the dirt...The crows or blackbirds were screaming...It just like a scene in the movie the "birds"... It creeped me out really bad...I couldnt see what they were yelling at.. I watched tv...Than got bored and went coleus shopping..lol The master gardener sale for the next county over is tommorow... I cant wait to see what they are going to be offering..I have never been to this one...Oh I almost forgot..I heard from the master gardener I met...Looks like we are building another gh..lol She wants to do it closer to fall since everyone is busy with their gardens...I am glad we could help her..They are a pain to build.. well I gabbed enough lol must be the strong coffee and I got a lot of sleep...:)) Have a good day everybody..Barb

I thought I would check in before leaving for the weekend. Yesterday was a day from hell. I am asking you again for prayers and support for my family. What I am going to tell you is almost impossible to believe. It concerns two of my nephews. One is ninth grade, the other away at college, finishing up his senior year. Last week my brother and his wife received a call from the ninth grader's school, saying that he had suffered an "episode" and recommended taking him to the doctor. To make a long story short, he had gotten extremely stressed out at school (he is always on the honors list) and just cracked. They described it as a manic episode. He is seeing several doctors and has gotten better, went back to school yesterday. When talking to my mother yesterday morning, she said she had started receiving some very bizarre emails from our other nephew, who is away at college. She didn't want to bother my brother, because of everything they had been going through with the younger son. I asked her to forward them to me, and gosh almighty, they were more than bizarre, really out of it, almost suicidal. So I told her I was going to track down my brother and/or his wife at their work and let them know. To make a long story short, this nephew has also suffered some sort of manic breakdown - they tested him and did not find drugs or alcohol in his system and will be committing him to a mental hospital for evaluation. My brother is with him, as my sister-in-law had to stay home with the other son. I was hesitant to post this on a forum, but I believe in prayer and that it can help heal, and my poor brother and his family need it in the worst way. They are just stunned and in shock. They are the last family you would think something like this would happen to. Very stable environment, very supportive of their children. Thank you for letting me share.

Good Sunday morning all, Patti, I am sorry to hear your news. I am glad that things are going well with Dave. (((((HUGS))))) What did you mean "four of us were in Orlando" who, what, when?????? Too bad you didn't connect with ??????????????? Besh,(((((HUGS))))) I am sorry for your family. Death is not easy. I hope your FIL has a very peaceful passing. I have sad news myself. A long time friend of ours called Friday night very late. His 29 year old son is in a coma due to a drug overdose and has very minimal brain function. Mark, (my DH), went down to be with them righ away and of this morning he has not improved although he has been able to breath for 3 minutes on his own. Right now they are in with the doctor discussing taking him off life support. The whole thing is agonizing for them. What a horrible situation. All we can do is pray and think positive and remember that everything is perfect the way it is. Besh, I know what you mean about memories. It's hard to have to revisit such awful memories right now for me. I will be thinking of you.
