I have a VERY modest kitchen in my old cape cod. I re-did it in the early 90's. I don't use the dishwasher, so have not replaced the 23+ year old one that works like a charm.

I tired a soft green and hated it. This is Ben Moore's Crimson #1299, which I love.

My color of choice to go with my natural maple cabinets is "Grounded" by Behr. It is much more muted in person - not as bright as it appears on screen. It's the color above the cabinets and on the walls.

Thanks!!! Love the red with the maple! Unfortunately my kitchen is part of a "greatroom" and with no place to end the color it might be to much.
The "grounded" looks beautiful. I also have a lot of black in my kitchen....... Is the backsplash painted in the same color?

Thanks Homebody - No, the backsplash is painted in a sort of icky skin color, which was used throughout the entire house - tooo much flesh tone for me. I've re-painted every room so far (14 to be exact). As for the backsplash, it will be covered in a rustic, orangey travertine tile (like the one on the right below, only 6 inch) hopefully by the end of this month...if it ever stops snowing!

I have a gray green with my maple cabinets and as you can see it continues into our family room, too. It's Benjamin Moore Paris Rain 1501. It's been a very livable color for us and works with our light (east facing bay window and south facing slider). The counter material (Kirkstone) dictated the color choice for us as much or more than the maple. Prior to this we had a parchment faux finish which worked but I think this is better.

KLM- I love the Paris Rain- really beautiful. Your red armoire is great! I did decide to paint the rooms green as well but went a little darker- Olive 4 by Laura Ashley.
Kippi- Your cabs are gorgeous. I love the hardware and your lighting. Of course your Lab is the star!

wow kippi - who are you and where have you been hiding that kitchen? I am in LOVE/LUST with your rugs and if your dog turns up missing don't look at me ;-) It looks as though you have quite a mix of hardware on your cabs - very nice. Is that banquette a stepped up eating area? Show more please - and BTW what is the paint color?

homebodymom - did you ever show the paint you chose? If you did I missed it and would love to see.

Here is a photo of the color in the kitchen. I haven't posted finished pics since I am still working on the curtains for the slider in the attached family room. Here is what we have so far! I'm still trying to figure out how to make the pics smaller- I hope it works.

Beautiful kitchens everyone. My daughter and son-in-law have maple cabinets. They are planning to paint this coming summer, so this thread helps a lot. I especially love Kippi's Sandy Beige, as my daughter was looking for something neutral, although I do think the greens are pretty.

This is the kitchen we were remodeling when I got a new job and had to move, so the kitchen doesn't look as polished as some others. I can't recall the name of the paint, but it was a very light seafoam. Sorry!
