I used BM Grecian Green in my little boys' room. I also have old maps on the wall. It looks great. In fact, the green looks really neutral in that room.

Sure hope it's not too girly -- But my 13 year old doesn't seem to think so.

I think the pale green or the tan would look good. I lean towards the green.

I think green would be fine, BUT I think tan and blue would fit the theme and map a little better - maybe the tan walls and blue ceiling.

Your plans really sounds fantastic! Will the poster have that same yellow background as the book? What wall color would look best with that?

My youngest son is named George; he is very sweet and rarely gets mad, but when he does he really loses it! Then we call him Furious George. He loves to bake, so that makes him Epicurious.

Oh, Curious George was my little one's favorite, too! Cute idea for the room, and NO, I don't think the pale green would be too girly, especially with that fabric and other accessories. Sounds awesome!

I think the room should be tan.

When I think of Africa, I think of deserts, and pyramids, and Indiana Jones' hat... And the continent of Africa in your fabric is such a lovely shade of tan!

I vote for tan. It suits your theme perfectly and is more flexible if you want to change things around or add new pieces in later!

I don't think it would be girly, especially for a boy that young. I LOVE that fabric! I do think the tan walls and blue ceiling would look great though . . .

How about simple tan walls -- and a very pale blue ceiling? THEN add some green floor pillows!

GREAT fabric!! How about adding a couple of vintage globes on dark wood bookcases -- look on EBay! Add bamboo blinds to the window.

Definately the blue ceiling! I'm painting more and more of my ceiling blue and love it. Funny thing, when I ask people what they think, they don't even realize it is blue until I point it out :-)

The vote is in -- I'm doing the wall in tan, and the ceiling is blue.

I tried a larger patch of the green and it's too Jungle for me -- The tan seems to be more sophisticated & Probably will transition better.

I did a blue ceiling w/ clouds in my DD's room and she loves it. I also put in little stars using fluorescent paints. These stars last all night long. He loves going to his sister room at night to look at the stars so I may do the same for his room. Except the stars would be in constellation.

If your little guy likes those glow in the dark stars, and you don't feel like painting all of them, you might do what I did and use these. We put these up in my little one's room when he was a few years old, on the ceiling and some high up on the walls, and he wouldn't even let me take them down when he reached his teen years. My daughter had them in her room, too! That room is a guest room now, and I've had to sleep there a few times when my husband's snoring was too disruptive, and it's cool to look up and see those stars glowing in the dark.

nanny2a: We got those stars at our previous house! Anyhow, the reason I'm using glow in the dark paint is because it's much easier to do star clusters & shooting stars.

I called in the paint order and O.M.G it's so expensive! F&B raised the price in January -- Like it or not, this is what he's going to have to keep 'til college & beyond. :-)

I can't wait to get it done. Now only if the fabric would get here.
