Sorry for the length of this, but I want to be precise in my description.

In our new kitchen, we plan to have two of our base cabinets--the sink cabinet and the cooktop cabinet--jut out into the room 1.5 inches further than the rest of the base cabinets. These two jutted out cabinets will have "furniture legs" rather than plain toe kicks, and the countertop will be contoured accordingly.

Here is our concern: Our dishwasher will be placed right next to the sink cabinet. So, looking at the sink wall, you will see, from left to right, a natural cherry base cabinet (to the left of the sink cabinet), the sink cabinet (jutting out 1.5 inches), and then the dishwasher. (Then you hit a corner with a 45-degree Susan.)

Other things being equal, we would prefer to use a stainless steel door on the dishwasher to break up the wood look of the kitchen. (The fridge will be paneled). But, based on the theory that what looks nice about having a base cabinet jut out is the "furniture-y" look of it, we wonder whether it might look odd to have the jutted-out sink cabinet flanked by a matching wood cabinet on one side and a stainless dishwasher door on the other side--and seeing the juxtaposition of the stainless dishwasher door against the front SIDE of the wood sink cabinet.

Would it be better to panel the dishwasher?

All observations much appreciated--and of course photos would be a great help.
