I am selling my house too, and I found that I was here so much, trying to avoid stripping wallpaper and all the other chores I had to do when I was getting my house ready to sell. Garden Web is the perfect escape when the icky jobs are waiting.

Now, I spend too much time here because I don't want to mess the place up! Constant cleanliness is way overrated...

ok... here it goes (smile) for a long time I have wanted to move to the eastern end of Long Island. It is very country , beautiful and peaceful. We have been going back and forth with this for many years. It took a lot of thought, and itÂs time. I wonÂt be far..itÂs an hour away from where we live. I am going to try to get on here more so I can keep in touch with you! I wanted to touch base and say hello..miss all of you!

Ree - I've been thinking about you also. I wish I lived in your area. I'd buy your house! :) Now that you've decided to sell, what did you do about your kitchen?

I've missed you too, Ree! The first time I asked a question here on the Decorating forum (been lurking for a long while) you so sweetly answered and gave me guidance (this was about fabrics for my little boys' bedrooms).

And then I got to meet you over in cleaning -- again, so sweet and helpful!

I'm so excited for your move and shall look forward to reading about / seeing pictures of your new home -- you did such a beautiful job with this house.

PS: I finally ordered all those fabrics (ended up being 52 yards -- and I washed and ironed them all [I'm v. proud of myself!]) and they are off with the nicest seamstress being sewn. I'm looking forward to this project being done so I can just be plain friends with the seamstress -- I really like her!

Wow. .a native nyÂer! Are you still here? We are planning on moving to the North Fork (Southold, Cutchogue area) my mini make over is still not finished the wall paper is completely down, walls are scrubbed and I just need to paint. We are still going to have the back splash tiled, I think for that small investment it will "finish" the kitchen. We are not moving yet, probably list in June.. I donÂt know how long it will sit, the market isnÂt "wonderful" we are not in a rush.. we have nothing to buy.. we are going to rent a house first..less stress that way. I will take pictures of everything when itÂs finally finished! I will here for a while. .this is not a good bye (smile) Thanks for writing!

ItÂs going to be a while before we have a new home. We are planning on renting a house for a while and take our time to find our "forever" home this is not on the market yet, I have a lot of little things (that take a lot of time) to take care of. .want everything near perfect before we put it up.. Since itÂs winter, it will give me time to get things done before spring. I will post pictures of my painting and "staging the house" when it's finished!

I am going to go with Putnam Ivory. It is very neutral. The den and breakfast room are off the kitchen, itÂs sort of Âopen space those rooms are Putnam, so I figured IÂd pull it into the kitchen I think it will give the kitchen a Âlighter feel.. I love Honeymoon, but to sell.. I will be better off using a lighter color. Taking the wall paper off wasnÂt all that bad. .getting the glue off was a nightmare. .It took me a long time. Did you ever take your kitchen wall paper down? If so.. did you paint? I love the way your living room came out. .that was a perfect color to go with your wood walls.. looks wonderfulÂlove your bathroom also. .you really worked hard and it showÂsÂ

Ree - Nope, I haven't started on my kitchen yet. I'm waiting until I graduate, but it doesn't stop from looking at colors and trying to figure out what color I want to use. I think I'm going to try staining my cabinets darker first. DH hubby told me I shouldn't do that because it will look terrible, so I just need him to go to China again :)

LOL! Get hubby back to China..cute! I don't think they will look terrible at all..did you look into restore- a -finish?

I don't blame you for waiting until you graduate..you have done so much already.. on top, add school and family..don't know how you had the ambition! The kitchen is a big , tedious ,time consuming job.. if I thought I was going to want to sell..I would have never taken the paper down..but I am sure it will look so much better.
