French door garage images

I was very happy with the doors and love how the garage feels so open and light from the inside.I was waiting to post these when we installed the handles but thought I would post now - for all of you who were so kind in helping me with my decision. It really is a lot nicer in person; picture does not do it justice. I think it's because of the distance from which I took the picture, making the panes look tiny and busy. Doesn't look like that in person.

I think it looks great Zen4D. I'm sure this Spring it will look even better without all the snow. I think that's more distracting than the doors looking busy. Too much white.

Are you still working on this? I have questions about more than the fridge. This is an awkward layout and there is enough space there that I think you must have better options. Have you looked at moving the dining room entry to the right? Shifting an opening is not a huge ordeal, even if that is a load bearing wall (not sure if it is but someone mentioned the possibility in an earlier post). I'll try to post something mocked up best my crude skills allow here. As I have it, I think that would be a 36" fridge and there is a pinch point. I'm not sure of the depth there, but with a counter depth, an 18" DW or some other tweaks with proper measurements, I think you could improve the function of the space. On the dining room side, any crown would remain or be replaced above the opening and a good contractor should be able to adjust the baseboards. Keep working the plan until you get the kinks out. I lived with two horrible kitchens (we're talking 2 burners and they aren't flat or heat that well, dying ovens, DW tiled in and praying it wouldn't die -- even though it was so loud I hated to run it) for ten years between the two of them until I was able to do my kitchen. I learned a lot along the way and had time to explore outside the box ideas, come back and go off in different directions. All that exploration really paid off in the end, and I plan to use it long enough to make up for any delays. Anyway, here's one rough idea in case you hadn't though of it.

Do you paint door same color as garage doors or same as other doors???

Try it with the same trim color, but if it pops out too much, go back and do the gray that's on the doors. I'm thinking the trim color will defeat the purpose of blending in the garage doors and side doors. You don't want to call attention to the garage doors, right? Even having gray or black french doors with white trim would have the effect of outlining the doors and making them stand out rather than recede. JMO

"Sears is divesting themselves of that brand and will shortly no longer be carrying it. " That might be the spin, but I bet it's the other way around. Whirlpool is dropping back to only the obligated rebadged material until Sears finishes going down the tubes. Less risk to have inventory in their warehouses and stores. I believe they are on a Pay by Scan arrangement there. I may be out of date on that though.

All that white snow makes the house look dingy. Here is what they look like up close - inside and outside.

Is that frosted glass? At night, if the garage light is on, how much can you see from the outside?

WOW makes me want to get some. We did notice one of our doors is cracked.... Just a thought... I wonder how well these are for insulation though. Do they have a rating Zen4d?

I don't know the rating or the name of manufacturer but I bought the doors in Garden City, NY from Dreamgarageusa. They are frosted, and when the light is on you can see shadows. As far as insulation, my garage is not heated and yet the garage feels warmer than when I had my old heavy wood garage doors.

We also got ours from French Porte in Maryland (local for us). I agree the light in the garage is wonderful. Yours look terrific! Thanks for coming back to show pics.
