Any cont5ainer that you use needs vent holes in the top and drainage holes in the bottom, with a clear plastic cover. There also needs to be growing space above the soil. I am familuar with wall paper treys and don't think they would be very good to use. 2 ltr. bottles and milk jugs are the most often items used however there is some who vary their container a lot. So alnost any container can be used with some improvision with 3 necessitys It must have drainage, It must have ventulation and It must have light, Natural.. jim

Yes, Lee Jofa is the stockiest for Cole wallpaper in the US. And it is to-the-trade only. They will not sell it to you directly from the UK due to their licensing agreement with Lee Jofa. You may well find it online from stockiest in the UK. Shipping by air is not that expensive. What you need to understand is that European papers are 21" wide and come in 11 yrd single rolls. They cover approx 57 sq ft, if there is no repeat. American rolls are wider- usually 27" wide and a single room is about 4.5 yards long. American rolls are ALWAYS priced by the single roll but sold by the double - even triple roll. So prices can be deceiving. A single American roll will cover about 35 sqr feet. Paper hangers have a very had time figuring how many rolls one needs when they are European rolls. They don't actually know how to figure it mathematically, but through years of experience, they have learned to just look at a room and estimate the number of American double rolls needed. You will be well advised to measure yourself and do the math. Figure the number of repeats you will need for each strip of wallpaper - the larger the repeat, the more waste you will have. Then figure out how many strips you need per wall. You do this by simply measuring the wall. You will then have to figure how much less you will need for windows and doors. Understand that a professional paper hanger usually charges by the roll and for him, time is money. When I did my own paperhanging, I cut one piece at a time and saved the scrapes and looked through them for the very pice that would fit over a door or window etc. A professional cuts all his strips at once and you will have more waste so you must allow for that when ordering. It's far better to have a roll of paper left over than to run out! That extra roll may come in handy someday if you have a leak.
