I would go with that lighter green background color that the dot fabric has. A lighter color to me is more soothing. I would just pick up a bunch of paint card samples and bring them home to see.

With dark furniture and wood floor, I would also do the lighter green from the bedding.

I think I would be more inclined to go with a rug with shades of green in it, against the wood floor. I think the border stripe one linked here, perhaps in the top color (lagoon) which seems to have both your blue and green stripes, as well as browns in it. Otherwise, the next colorway, the pine stripe, would also work.

i would go with ralph lauren parchment on on the upper wall (it's close to the background color) and ralph lauren writers parchment on the ceiling (lighter in tone) and then go with a green or a chocolate brown for the lower wall. I'd praint the trim in the writers parchment and do a chair rail. This gives you a gorgeous creamy tan and brown (or green...but I like the brown frankly...I'd do sherwin williams woodsey brown on the bottom portion) background. Then go with your colors on the bedding and use ivory as your pop/highlight color. For the rug, I'd do a fabulous big sheep skin rug (you can get a huge one at costco for around a hundred bucks. The benefit of that rug is first, it's wonderful to walk on and for a baby to play on. It's totally washable (in a laundrymat because of the size) and it's thick enough that if your darling every crawls out of their crib, they'll not hit a wood floor or thin rug, but instead will hit a very thick wool plush rug (and this matters...my son has dived out of the crib a couple of times and had not a bruise). It's also luxurious and a great decorating feature.

I have a spare bedroom, that will be turned into a nursery this summer. We purposely painted it a pale green since we knew it would eventually be a nursery. We painted it Benjamin Moore Pale Sea Mist. I have my eye on similar bedding, light green and chocolate brown if it's a boy. And if it's another girl I will use the bedding I already have from my daughters. It matches with both.

If it coordinates w/ the green in the bedding, I'd suggest BM Flowering Herb on top and Baby Turtle (both from the same strip) or darker on the bottom. The colors on this strip, although green, have a very brown undertone.

I have BT in my LR w/ blue accents & dark furniture and I love it.

I'm not sure if it would go..hard to say with the drawing above but a pale yellow might be pretty too. I found one photo but maybe a bit lighter than this one:

Either BM Wind Chime or Elemental would be a nice soothing shade.
Looks like either one would blend beautifully with your bedding choice.

Saybrook Sage - Benjamen Moore

Congratulations!! We have a surprise on the way too. I'm not painting the walls though due to me being on restricted duty and DH isn't much of a DIY'er although he can, but hates it. Ours is a soft white that tends to reflect the other colors that surrounds it. I'm also using some posters with strong primary colors and didn't want it to fight with a wall color. If I had been able to paint I would have painted it BM Manchester Tan. It may still happen at some point after the baby is here as he/she will be in our room for the first months. Our crib is cherry.

I'm thinking like others said to use the light background of the green circle fabric. It seems nice and neutral and would allow the other colors to stick out.

You could also do the lighter one on top, paint the chair rail espresso, and then the bottom the darker green of the circles. Sort of similar in pattern to your bedding.

Congratulations both Lyfia & Jillb! I've just recently nailed down my 3rd and final nursery colors (DD is 4mo. old). W/ some encouragement from members on this board I'm doing cream, blue and brown for her room. Lyfia: we are doing BM Vanilla Ice Cream on her walls w/ my old curtains from the kitchen which are SS w/ a cream jacobean style print outlined in brown.

The lighter shade on the background of the green dot fabric is actually a cream color and not a light green. I've found several samples that seem to match the cream color, but I don't know if that will be much of a change over the white that's currently on the wall.

There will also be a glider chair in the room that has several shades of green, so I'm worried that there might be too much green in the room if I paint the walls green, too.

The stripe of the bumper has several colors that I could use, but again, I'm worried about having too much green in the room. Here's a closer picture of the fabric, although it's difficult to see all of the colors clearly. One of the stripes is actually a purple color.

After seeing the above picture of yellow, I really like it. Do you think something like that would work? Or maybe even a light purple that matches the stripe? Or maybe the light cream color on top and a darker cream on the bottom?

I'd go for a warm cream that would work well with the color of your linens. I love what you've chosen so far! So when's your baby due? BTW, are you the Jilly I know from GI, who'd been living in France up until a few years ago?

I would pull the light aqua out and match that color, perhaps a shade lighter, for the walls. Greens and parchment are very predictable companions; the aqua would make the room sing!

Aqua is an intriguing idea!!! I still think I would go with the cream though. It doesn't have to be a color so close to white. Have you seen Brutuses Rich Cream?? It's yummy!

One thing that I would add that others seem to be skimming over......I would NOT put a dark rug on a nursery floor. Not unless you intend to try to vacuum it while baby is sleeping! Dark will show every itty-bitty speck of stuff needed for the baby. Rather, choose something you won't need to be a slave to - gives you more time to enjoy the baby. Go for something soft - and big enough - that you can tip-toe in to check on the baby and quietly back out of the room. Be sure those parquet planks don't squeek either.

Sage(ish) color is a oyster color type fringed or scalloped trim or borders. Most paint stores will match up colors with a swatch you bring in. My in-laws made my nephew's room this color, not knowing the deterimined sex at the time they prepared the nursery for the first born--and it works! Best wishes, Dancinqueene/pam
