MRI--Dr.'s Visit

Just got back. He disagrees with the Dr. that read my MRI. He says the spots are caused by hypertension and to just be sure to keep it under the control. Thanks for all the good thoughts. I was really upset for awhile.

    Thank goodness! Great news!

Oh my - this is good news!
Getting horrible medical news via fax whilst at work surely did not help you hypertension.
    Thanks for the update!

I hope the doctor had words with the person who faxed you. Or maybe a lawyer should!

In any case, that's wonderful news.

Great news! Good grief...you'd think doctors would use a tad more sensitivity (your original doctor's office, that is).

If you've got hypertension, be sure to get on medication. Untreated hypertension leads to heart and kidney disease.

Thats great news Kathy...Hypertension is very treatable...I was diagnosed at age 33 and have been on medication for 30 years. As long as I take my medication,my blood pressure stays quite normal.Of course I also try to watch my diet as well.
All that worry for nothing...whoever sent that fax should be horse-whipped!

And can lead to strokes like my DB has had. I am so glad to hear this doctor's diagnosis. Bet you're breathing easier, too.

    Wonderful news!

I didn't post this on the earlier message, but years and years ago, the doctors found several tiny "spots" in the center area of my brain. I was in the AF at the time and they kept sending me to Bethesda for tests. It wasn't MS, or cancer, or any of the multitude of other ailments they were frightening me with.

They never did give them a name, just "spots the size of salt grains." 25 years later I'm still healthy and happy and my brain works fine. Well...??? Any issues I have are not related to the spots. LOL

I'm so happy for you! (And I agree totally with Eliza Ann!)

    Good news for you!

I was diagnosed with hypertension at age 28 and have been on meds ever since. As long as I remember to take my pills and get regular checkups and bloodwork, I am stable.

    Best of health to you!

Kathy, I have the same problem......it was diagnoses about three years ago and I have to have memory tests every year, which I have "aced" according to the doc. Also no changes were noted on my last MRI, about eight months ago.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so pleased to hear your news, Kathy, that things can be kept in pretty good order with some medication.

I hope that you resisted getting yourself worked up into too much of a lather, overnight.

Like Grandma said, "Don't cross bridges till you get there".

It sure helps if one can make a fairly strong attempt to follow that dictum.

    Great news!

    Kathy,
I'm happy the results are not what you were told. However hypertension is not something to be taken lightly. I am not a big believer in medication. Most western doctors only know how to treat a patient with meds. Lifestlye changes work the best. I know a woman that lowered her blood pressure herself. She bought a book about lowereing her blood pressure through diet and eliminated salt altogether. It wasn't easy as you can imagine how salty our food in the Western diet is. Her blood pressure went down without any medication.
