30 in sink big enough?
Comments (2)There are a lot of single-bowl sinks out there that are under 30 inches wide. But I have noticed that there seems to be a bit of a break between the low 20-inch range and over 30 inches, if you are looking at a single bowl in that size. Blanco has a silgranit single bowl at 22" interior width. But the next size up single bowl width is right around 30 inches - too big for your cabinet. Do you really need a super-sized single bowl? I pulled out the tape measure and realized just how big a single sink is that is 22 inches interior width - holds a cookie sheet with 5 inches left over! Of course, you are the judge on what you need, but I surprised myself when I did the old tape measure test....See MoreIs 16.5' wide chandelier big enough for 11x11 space?
Comments (4)Just asked the same question at a lighting store. I was told to add the length of the room to the width, and your answer, in feet, was your ideal size chandelier, in inches. That would mean the 22" fixture. However, it also depends on the diameter of the table. I was told that the chandelier should not be less than half the diameter, but not more than 12" less than the diameter. So, if you have a table that is 48" in diameter, your chandelier should be at least 24", but not more than 36". Of course, these are very general guidelines, but taking them both into consideration, I'm thinking that you won't be happy with the 16". We just put a 20" chandelier in a 10x8 dinette area and I'm glad I didn't go any smaller. Hope this helps....See MoreWill this prep sink be big enough for me?
Comments (8)Thanks! cottonpenny - That Kohler one looks perfect, but it is so much more expensive than the Ticor... and at this point I'm so frustrated that everything I want is going so over budget. :( I keep trying to convince myself that I can find a prep sink for under $200 that will make me happy. breezygirl- You say it so optimistically! LOL. I think you're right. I would probably rather have something a little bit bigger. dreamingh- I was just looking at it at Galaxy Tool Supply. I have a little bit more time to order it so I haven't looked at inventory. I didn't notice it was out of stock. I wonder if the Ticor S505 would be okay. Too big? The interior dimensions on that one are 21" x 15.75" x 9". Here is a link that might be useful: Ticor s505...See MoreThose with 24'' single bowl sinks, big enough?
Comments (6)I have a 24" wide, 10" deep sink in the peninsula near the eating area for dishes only. I have a 33" wide 1-3/4 sink under the window for me doing prep for the cooktop which is to the right in the L, and for DH who uses the MW several times a day to the left of the sink on the long part of the L. I sometimes have to transport some flatware and the occasional dish from "his" side of the 1-3/4 sink over to the "dish" sink since he's only semi-trainable ;>). But it's worth it, since he's not in my way when I'm cooking, and I can stack the dishes and pans in the 24" sink until I'm ready to deal with them and not have them be in his way when he's fixing something. Works well for us! Anne...See Moresandra_zone6
