You do NOT, necessarily get a longer lasting oven by buying a more expensive one. Just do a search for porcelain problems, some of these ovens are only 3 or 4 years old, and some even brand new, (just a few months old). In my rentals, I just bought the inexpensive "everyday" type ovens, no fancy blue porcelain, no fancy electronic controls, and they last for years and years and I never hear from the tenants~~~in fact they last so long, that I'm not able to tell you if the newer inexpensive ovens are as good as I haven't had to buy any~~~~sorry about that, but my main point is, more money does not guarantee a longer life oven, and indeed just the opposite may be true. Having said that, of course, like many others here in Garden Web, I wanted something a little "Nicer" than just your basic oven. As we had our old kitchen since we bought the house new, 1975, I threw the budget "to the winds"~~~whatever we wanted, we would get, price no object. Well we settled on the Electrolux oven and speed oven, and in 7 years, both have been trouble free, and perform as we expected them to perform, and the beautiful blue porcelain in the oven has NOT been a problem, but we DO NOT self clean the oven. First, I don't want to give the money it cost to clean the oven to our Greedy power company here in S. CAlif. Second, as retired Electronic Engineer, I know that heat and Electronics do not "Co-Exist" well, and since the bottom of my oven lifts out, it is very easy to clean. Unfortunately, Elux discontinued the removable bottom in their ovens, and guess who picked up the idea with their new, (but not yet released) ovens? Course the other manufacturers copied Elux's ball bearing fully gliding out shelves too. So, if you must have the "fancy stuff", I would wait until the new Wolf ovens come out, or look at the current offerings from Elux and Bosch~~~~~most still get pretty good reviews here in Garden Web, as well as Elsewhere. You could go Miele too, but unfortunately, Miele has left some oven owners "Stranded" with low temperature oven problems, (see the recent posts), but another poster claims to have called Miele, and said, "Miele acknowledged the problem and said it was fixed"~~~~~paraphrasing We have also not seen any recent posts about the performance of newer Miele ovens, (Less than 2 years old), so this could still be a crap shoot making this selection. I did do a lot of googling of Miele oven reviews, they were very scarce, Yet it is easy to find positive reviews of the Bosch Ovens????? Go figure! Anyway, good luck on your hunt for an oven that will last 8 years, (especially if you self clean it)! Gary

no you cannot disconnect the freezer. It's part of a circuit that requires it to be there to take some of the excess swing when the circuit goes too far. A freezer (that is working right) can have temperatures that go low and lower. If a refrigeration technician lived at home and worked on it as a hobby, eventually you would end up with a fridge-only that produced temperature swings, and that is very bad for most foods. blueberrier1 I suppose the water in the freezer was to show that it didn't freeze... Look at what might be preventing the entire unit from working right. Is it buried in a closet or surrounded by lots of moving air? Is dust blocking the coils? What setting is the thermostat at? What else? With a little luck you might get the freezer to be perfect for ice cream. Most freezers have a temperature too low for ice cream. Then people have to find a way to compensate for THAT problem when they want to serve ice cream which is way too hard to be partitioned with a spoon and only gets drippy on the surface. Nobody enjoys gathering up drips when they know they could have ice cream that scoops onto the spoon entirely. I've often wondered why high end manufacturers didn't make two freezer compartments, one for ice cream alone. You heard it here first, in case you see this option in some future year, in a new appliance...

I wonder if your house had my plumber -- or at least a cousin. Hope things have calmed down for you, but I understand the feeling of one thing after another and fearing what's next. Had I known ten years ago what I know now, I would have pulled all the sheetrock in my house and run new plumbing. But that still wouldn't have found or fixed the section of main drain line that was under the slab -- neither end of it secured to anything. Just lying there. Leaking. Filling in with dirt. Waiting to back up sewage into our bathtub and shower. Just managed to stop it before it ran onto the floor and into our carpeted closet. Was apparently left that way by the original plumber and took nearly 19 years to create a blockage that couldn't be cleared by more conventional methods and led us to ripping out cabinets and jack hammering the slab to find it. This summer, several years later, I walked into our bedroom and heard water running in the bathroom. But DH was sleeping in the bed. I turned on the light and saw sewage coming from the ceiling. Fortunately, it fell mostly into my tub. My brother was in town, so the next morning, we started ripping out sheetrock and discovered that the plumber had run the water heater overflow into the main drain line by installing a T junction just past the toilet -- where any paper or solids could catch and create clogs -- then backing up into the water heater pan. The toilet had clogged and my DB and SIL had plunged it. The pressure caused the muck to come out through the junctions in the pipe and through my ceiling. We also found a leak at the upstairs tub drain while we had the ceiling open. When we did our kitchen, we knew we had a leak in the wall behind my pantry and had turned off the water at the sink above until we ripped things out to fix it. While we had that wall and the ceiling open, we found 3 or 4 more "minor" leaks waiting to create major problems. I am not considering the expense of installing tankless water heaters so I don't have a tank to flood. Won't eliminate all the issues, but I still like the idea. My water heaters are 10 years old, so the time is coming to replace anyway. Might as well invest in staying here. The sales disclosures will require us to list all these things and I'm afraid no one would ever buy the house.

I've had My Acer Iconia a500 for around 4 years with a single problem! Pretty sure that Your Samsung Tablet should last longer than 1 yr. This should fix the Flickering Problem: To fix flickering in video: Enable developer options in settings (go to about device and tap Build Number 7+ times). In developer options, under hardware-accelerated rendering, check "turn off hardware overlays". You can also check "force GPU rendering", but I've found the former is all that's necessary. Nothing about the Overheating Battery I can find yet!
