The resulting tomato has stayed nearly the same small size for a month or two now. ***** I can't help wondering if you're seeing the green tomato ovary which is at the base of every blossom and that that blossom never did get pollenized. If the blossom is pollenized that small green ovary then starts to enlarge and is on its way to becoming a mature fruit in less than a week and you can see it enlarge with time. Carolyn

Hi there, sorry to hear about your troubles, I am having somethign similar at the moment, with exception of heavy prolonged bleeding that sends me into acute anemia fast every time it happens. We are same age so I assume you are in perimenopause by the sound of it. First of all let me tell you that the palpitations and anxiety attacks are usual thing that happens during this time, be comforted that you are NOT having heart attack or dying, will just need to learn to control these. I did pretty much and they are under control now. Remember its just an attack, let it come, pass over you, keep repeating they will pass. Set little routines that usually help you such as, breathing into a paper bag, or your hands, carbon dioxide will slow your breathing and prevent you from hyperventilating. Fresh air helps me, also getting busy, doing anything to take your mind of it. If its already in full blown mode, just sit safely, cold towel around your neck, or wash your face in cold water, and breathe, slowly, try to control your breathing...after a while your body will pick it up and slow down the whole thing overall. I found out it helps a lot to develop the routine, it will be better than pills once you manage to improve it. I hope this was of some comfort to you, hope to hear about your improvement. :) hugs

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and concern. Mostly, thank you so very much for your prayers----they worked!! Lumps were just cysts and dense fibrous tissue. I was so relieved, as were my husband and daughters--and, of course, my mother! Hopefully will be around for a long, long time to come! I was very sorry to hear about bitsandpieces. Someone, somewhere, sometime soon needs to find a cure for cancer. I keep giving and giving to the Cancer Foundation and to St. Jude. They need all the money they can get to fund the research needed to find a cure. Please, please support these foundations in whatever way you can. Cancer can strike anyone at any time. Melissa

Beautiful! Congratulations! Good thing that you kept those nubs around. You must be much more patient than me! I will not be keeping mine after I pick my one tomato, because the tomato is too far diseased. I've realized that living in a city such as San Francisco has challenges for sun and temperature sensitive plants such as tomatoes. We have very mild winters, warm springs, cold summers, and hot falls. Where the sun shines is a constant struggle of the sun's angle, the numerous rooftops surrounding my garden, and the shape and direction of my deck. Sometimes I feel like I'm walking my plants.
