Show me your hex-tile floors and tell me your grout color please!
Comments (8)Hi Bill, I have seen mention of this Mapei on other threads and did a google search and came up with a lot of foreign-language links. Who makes it? Or better yet, can you give me a link to a website? (Also, I sent you an email - did you get it? I noticed another tile installation disaster today. Our Master Bath floor has been covered for protection until today when part of it was exposed while the double vanity was installed. The large 16" square honed Calcutta Gold tiles are not centered on any of the walls, so there are really off grout lines at the center of the vanity. It is really obvious and when I think about it I literally want to cry :( . This is our forever house and everywhere I turn, a tile job is done badly. I could really use a good referal!)...See MoreShow me your bedroom TV, please!
Comments (6)Sue we have a small TV in our bedroom. Technically it's too small but even when I had a console table for it in place of the piece I have now (which greatly restricts the size we could use) I would not get a larger screen. Just as you mentioned, I don't want the TV to be the focal point - it's not a media room. Our viewing distance is a lot farther than yours - close to 16' and our TV is a 23". But the reality is, when in bed the ONLY thing I watch is the 10pm news and possibly a bit of Nightline. Neither requires big screen viewing IMO. The only other time I watch that TV is if I'm ironing and for that I'm much closer so distance and screen size are not a factor. We used to have a console table as I said but it was a particle board piece of junk so I got rid of it. That viewing height was very similar to what we have now which is about 32". However, before we drilled the back of this cabinet the TV sat on top for a loooong time and that viewing height is about 48" - 50" and it was fine. In fact, my DH worried he wouldn't like it lower again but since I gave him no choice, he's adjusted ;-) These are taken with my head pretty much on my pillow as it would be for viewing. And I can also tell you that at night, I can't read the time on that Bose clock radio to save my life!!! As you can see here, the DVD player is shoved in behind the TV - we never used it so didn't bother to hook it back up....See MorePlease show me your drawers (under your cooktop)
Comments (27)Not under a cooktop but the same idea- middle drawer of a 30" frameless cabinet. These are not adjustable, (mine and predate when I could do that easily) Spacing is 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 clear between and dividers are 4-1/4" (4-1/2" max) high to allow lids and (11") fry pans to tilt enough to clear and saucepans to sit front to back. It also allows much easier access than full height dividers. Drawer box sides should be full height if at all possible. Larger fry pans, square sided sauteuse, woks, etc. get stored elsewhere. Usually with tray dividers in base cabinet though the first two can work in the top drawer of a frameless caibnet. (I hate stacking) Nowadays I spec adjustable in most brands, the one brand that I can't do that with we put them in with pocket hole screws and fit them to the clients actual stuff....See MoreShow me pics of your mixed hardware in your bathroom please!
Comments (12)ummm, I haven't any. I put up bn look command hooks for the wet towels on the face of the shower as a temporary measure until I could decide on what to get. I only have one place (in that huge bathroom) where I could hang a bar, but the area ended up being a few inches narrower than I thought and am worried about it (a bar) encroaching on the space where the toilet is. I've got my eye on the tp holder that matches the faucets. It's brushed nickel and since it would be on a painted wall, i think it would look better than the orb. But can't commit until I decide about a towel bar for sure and the matching towel bar sets out too far from the wall for that space. So I am pretending that someday I'll figure it out - until then the tp sits on the back of the toilet. I am the only user, so it's fine....See Morecattknap
