I have done both. But, with blue, it can sometimes be a bit much for some people. In our last house, we painted BM nantucket fog in both and I loved it but when it came time to sell, we lived in a very conservative (colorwise) northern area and in a bad market we wanted to do everything we could to sell. So we left the bathroom and painted the bedroom back to just white. It sold. Probably not related but who knows. I think I like coordinating better, but theres no right or wrong. Whatever you like.

Our master bedroom and bathroom are different colors. The bedroom is a creamy color, with yellow tones, and the bath is a milk chocolate color. I think you can do whatever you like. It's a matter of preference. As long as they complement or coordinate one another.

we have pine needle green in masterbedroom and blue sail in masterbath. ive never wanted same color. for the 2 rooms. we have 2 masters and the other on im planning on painting and i plan to do different colors as well

My masterbath and masterbedroom are both the same (Olive Branch). I would have prefered to have the bath a lighter shade of the same color, but I was out of color changes with the painter. One day I may repaint, but right now I'm content with it, even though it wasn't my first choice.

Totally Confused

Thank you all for your feedback. I know I want mine to flow, but am concerned with too much blue, whether we try to sell in the next few years or not. I think I am leaning more towards coordinating, versus 2 blue rooms. Once the bathroom is done, I'll post pictures perhaps for some suggestions on the bedroom. Thanks again!

My bedroom walls are BM Gossamer blue, the ceiling is one color up on the same paint strip and the trim is the lightest color. One of those is called something like Ocean Air and one is Ice Mist?

In the bath, the walls are the ceiling color from the bedroom, but it now reads as a lovely light blue and not whitish like it did on the ceiling agaisnt the Gossamer, and the trim, beadboard and ceiling are the lightest shade again. One wall in my bathroom is seaglass colored glass tiles.

I love how both rooms look and love to be either room.

In our condo, all the celings, doors and trim are BM Swiss Coffee, the bedroom is Ashwood and the bath French Canvas. The other downstairs spaces are Overcast. The upstairs bedrooms are Sag Harbor Gray and the bathroom is 1/4 strength of that color.

I also love the look of all those colors and love to be in any of those rooms.

All this is a long way of saying: yes my bedroom and bath room walls coordinate but don't match exactly.

The Master Bath is the next room I am planning to redo. I am not going to coordinate it to the bedroom because that room is still in the older style. If and when we sell, I can't see an older style bath doing me any favors.

An updated master bath, however, would be a selling point. After the bath is done, then I will look at changing the color of the master bedroom to something that coordinates with the bath.

The bedroom is cream/burgandy/cherry wood and the current bath is oatmeal. The new bath will be gray/white/marble. I'm also sick of the oatmeal tile that was everywhere in the house. Just changed it in the kitchen to carerra marble subway. So we are going gray/white from beige/cream as the background.

It probably depends if you recently redecorated your bedroom and the carpet/drapes are new? (Mine can all go out the window!) If I had done the bedroom first, then I'd coordinate the bath to it. :)

Our bedroom is a light greyish, silver blue and our master bath is SW Latte. I did use some blue accents in the bath and the bedroom fabrics are cream, bronze, silver and gold. They do co-ordinate

Pattiem93--Any chance you have pictures that you'd be willing to share? Your rooms sound like the idea in my head that I'm trying to achieve (only flip flopped).

Our master bedroom and master bathroom are the same color. The WT are made of the same fabric, as well. I treated the two rooms as one. However, our boys rooms have a jack & jill bathroom in between them. The boy's rooms are different colors (one is off white) and the bathroom is khaki. Navy and white are used in all three rooms to tie it together.
