Okay, so sometimes one has to address the little things in life.

I haven't found a salt spoon that is effective in my almost daily use of my salt cellar. I have the worm hole that I use to dispense salt, but also need a spoon. The spoon I have isn't effective at all. The spoon bowl is too small and the spoon is too short to handle comfortably.

Knowing of Lou/Hawk's exceptional woodcarving skills, I commissioned him to carve a spoon. I knew this would be a piece of cake for someone with his talent; he completed the job within 24 hours of the request. He even carved two so I could choose which met my needs. They are perfect and I love that they are handmade by a friend.

Nothing you can do but wait for the chemicals to completely leave. In the meantime, you can place a cut orange in a small plate and allow the fumes from the orange mask the offending odor from the chemicals.

I would iterate what other posters have said. I live in a condo where there are unfortuately many water intrusion issues caused by neighbors. Luckily since I live on a high floor I have escaped them for the most part since water travels down. However, about a year ago my crazy neighbor who was NOT directly above me caused a major flood by doing unlicensed plumbing work. A relatively small amount of my dry wall that abutted his was impacted. I had to deal with an emergency water intrusion company and had their drying machines running for about a week. The impacted dry wall was then removed and replaced. Since I had asbestos in the material used for the seams, I also had to have an asbestos abatement company do the removal. My flooring was tested for any moisture but luckily since I didn't get the brunt of the water because I wasn't directly below, none of my flooring was impacted at all. One of my neighbors was involved in a flood where his flooring did become wet. Since his flooring was ceramic tile he made a deliberate choice to not do anything other than dry the floor. When his unit was sold a few years later, the new owner wanted to replace the ugly tile floors and when the tile was removed everything was black mold underneath - which shows that even if there is no visible water damage after water intrusion, there can be a huge potential issue. It seems as if the current owner of the home chose to do the cheapest possible repairs. If they had hired a reputable company that dealt with water intrusion issues, they would have discovered that the flooding had impacted the floors and had mitigated the issue at that point. They would have used their equipment to measure exactly where the water had gone even if not visible to the eye and after drying it with their equipment, all of that flooring would have been removed. Since it is wood flooring, it would have almost certainly meant all of the floors would be replaced since it is unlikely it could be matched easily. All of my neighbors had ALL of their flooring replaced since it is impossible for it to be patched. FWIW insurance paid the cost for full replacement/

The reasons you can see this in one area of the slab but not through out is actually simpler than you think, it can just be the terrain outside that allows the water to pool outside the house in that area where it is showing. It could also be a slight flaw within the slab (or if it has a vapor barrier underneath) that allows more moisture to come through in that area. The efflorescence you both are experiencing is not dangerous itself, its the dissolved minerals coming through a more porous part of your slab. You are seeing it at the joints of your LVP because even though they have attached pads, at the joints is where it can wick through. The LVP once all locked in place is a large moisture barrier itself over the slab, the joints and perimeter of the flooring are the only places anything can escape. If RH (moisture) was getting too high under the LVP for long period of times you would start to see more than just efflorescence, commonly you would start seeing LVP failure. The most common is peaking/curling in the butt joints (the short joints). Every slab is different on if it would need a 6 mil plastic or roll on membrane before putting down an LVP. It also varies on where in the US you live. Most manufactures state they "suggest" a 6 mil plastic or some type of moisture mitigation but it is not required unless testing shows there is a RH issues prior to installation. Every manufacture states different forms of requirements they allow for testing the slab prior to installing the LVP to make sure it's within guidelines. The industry is regulated all by ASTM by how we can test concrete slabs and these options are what the manufactures quote in their installation instructions. Get to know your exact flooring line, pull up the instructions and do the research. Nothing is more powerful than an consumer with knowledge.

Maureen, funny, that went over my head for a moment. Actually I put one in the baking soda jar for my daily "pinch" when brewing tea for iced tea.

Lou, they think these spoons are beautiful, show your real work and they will be blown away!

Funny you should mention Garlic Powder. I just had 2 friends here for dinner tonight.
I have a few !!!!!

They are both good Cooks and were surprised to hear that, not too many on the CF, use Garlic Powder.

They enjoyed the Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and I made,
8 Tilapia Filets shaped like a fish, with Crab Cake stuffing in between.
I'll Post it Later on the CF, with a Recipe.
