Counters and Island Too Matchy or Too Busy?

Dear Wise Ones,

I could use some advice about matching (or not) counters and island tops. Here's a snapshot of my project:

Kitchen Size: 15' x 17'

Cabinets: White

Counters: Caesarstone Raven (soft black)

Backsplash: Olive green beveled subway tile

Floor: 14" concrete tiles in terracotta color

Island: 35" x 50" antiqued black

I had originally planned to do a Carrera top on the island for contrast, but a seemingly knowledgeable woman at the tile store said that white marble wouldn't work with the floor (too cold, apparently). One of the tile guys I interviewed said that the counters and island should be of the same material, otherwise it would look too busy. Another tile guy said that the counter and island material should be different, otherwise it would look too matchy.

Matchy? Busy? Help!

I'm inclined to pick matchy over busy and go with black Caesarstone on everything, but I'm concerned that the black top on the black island is going to be blah.

So what to do? Is it wrong to have all the surfaces the same? Should there be contrast? Does anyone have an opinion about the black top on a black island (at this stage I don't know what my options would be since my first choice -- Carrera -- seems off...)?

Oh boy! Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

Tina
