cabinet door type of wood dilemma

Hello everyone, I am new to this board but I have been following many topics for the past 2 months. I am almost done with the design, only one decision to be made: maple shaker, quartersawn oak shaker or horizontal rift oak slab. Colour will be medium darker brown (gunstock).

This would be for the base cabinets, and tall cabinets on both ends of the L shaped kitchen, uppers will be light cream painted mdf. I am going for moderately modern look. I love the look of rift oak veneer but my main concern is that it is a veneer on particle board (wear and tear issues), originally wanted maple but darker stain doesn't really look that good. Quartersawn oak is solid but more expensive. Any advice please and thank you.
