round table, round rug?
Comments (1)well, if the rug was really square it would never be 8x9 but 8x8 or 9x9. The rug should extend beyond your table a minimum of 2' all around, so a 9' round rug or 9' square rug would work better since 54" + 24" + 24" = 102" which is 8'-6"....See MoreWhat size of rug do I need for a 62" round extendable Table?
Comments (4)How long does the table extend? Do you want to take its maximum length into consideration? How many chairs do you have sitting at it, and when it's extended, are they also at each end, and is the table then a rectangle with rounded corners? Can you post a picture of the table with the chairs you use around it?...See Morewhat size rug under 52 X 42 dining table?
Comments (2)You need around 3’ larger than the table measurements because you want diners to pull back chairs and keep all 4 legs on the rug. Diagram is to scale with a 42” x 52” table in an 11’ x 11’ room. The “rug” is 7’ x 8’. Not a popular size, but you can have one cut to size and blend which could be beneficial to you. I tried doing a square rug, but the 10” difference in width takes away almost a foot of rug....See MoreTo rug or not to rug... (rug under dining room table)
Comments (14)Thanks for all the advice! I think I am on the side of getting a rug. The more time I have spent looking at the room today has made it more obvious. Thanks for the pictures Beth, super helpful! I am an extremely particular person, especially when it come to rugs haha (I spent 3 or 4 weeks constantly/obsessively searching for the one in our living room). It is nice to have a jumping off point. Let the search begin... I have a black rectangular planter coming that I was planning on placing on the table and planting some low succulents in (picture). I thought that the table needed something black on it to pull in the light fixture more effectively. I was also planning on putting large plant in the corner. I'm not sure what type of art to put on the wall under the window. The window placement is...awkward. I wonder if a live/moss planting would work? There will be more mini projects and questions that come up for this main area as we move through it. We have most of the major pieces but are missing a lot of the smaller elements to tie it all together....See MoreRelated Professionals
