Panel Ready Dishwashers- Any Updates?
Comments (7)Zalmark, you can have any good installer or plumber install a Miele DW. You get an extra year of warranty with the Miele certified installers. Just about every major maker has panel ready dishwashers. They usually are only the top of the line units/prices because the people who want them usually want all the bells and whistles. Sometimes the major companies will keep a previous top of the line in their books as a second or even third tier unit and continue to offer it as panel ready. Or maybe they just have them in the warehouse. :) I've seen that in the Whirlpool book, for instance. The big dealer book, not the brochure. I'm sure your appliance dealer can order panel ready in whichever kind you like. Usually the interior is pretty much the same, perhaps with an extra fold down or special basket. You can read the manuals for the features online at the manufacturers' websites....See MoreShow Me Your Wood Paneled Dishwasher Please!
Comments (13)About all you need to do is get a dishwasher made to take a panel ("integrated" models) which come, as these things so often do, with a surcharge, although in essence you're getting less for the money (they come with no front at all). The literature will tell you the exact dimensions of the panel you'll need, and it screws on very easily (I did it myself with a friend to help hold it). You can just pass on the dimensions to your cabinet company or carpenter. There are also a number of independent companies that make panels in a zillion styles and materials (Frigo, Heartland, etc)....See MorePanel Ready Bosch Dishwasher wont sit flush with cabinets
Comments (50)A panel front dishwasher DOES NOT sit 2" out from the cabinets. That is not normal. Period. I'd be mad if it sat 1/8" out from the cabinets. I have a panel front Bosch and inset cabinets. My dishwasher sits perfectly flush with the cabinet faces. That is the way they are designed the be installed. The hose is your problem. You have to pull the DW back out and pull the hose into the cabinet under the sink as someone else pushes it back in. Do this and you will have plenty of room for both the DW and the panel front. Spend some time getting the panel to sit flush, level, square, and with an even reveal (gap around the sides of the panel). There are feet you can adjust on the front, and a screw in the front center that adjusts the back leg. Once you have that, install your brackets to hold it in place. If the job is too much for you or your husband, have a pro do it. You'll both be happy you did....See MoreQuestion: panel-ready dishwasher
Comments (8)I have a Bosch panel-ready, with a seamless toekick like Nester44 shows above. The only caveat is that my cabinets allow a 4-1/2" toekick (a bit taller than normal), and due to the clearance of the Bosch DW door when it's open, my toekick had to be cut a bit shorter just in front of the DW. You can't tell from anywhere in the room - it's totally hidden, just FYI....See Moreplllog
