agatha: Did you do an ultrasound too? My doctor said the lining of my uterus is 11mm, so I need to have a D&C or I am at risk of uterine cancer. I asked her to put me on progesterone, so she had me take 400mg Prometrium for three days, and she said I'd have a period in a week. I waited a week, and nothing. But on day 8, I got some slight pinkish discharge that last 2 days, and then nothing. I did get a migraine, which I have not had since my periods ended. I really don't understand why I didn't get a period. Did the endometrial biopsy hurt, agatha? I am so scared of having it done. My doctor does not use ANY anesthesia. When I asked her for a cervical block, she was very annoyed, and said I'd have to sign a release, and could have a large number of side effects including dizziness, ringing in my ears, etc. She finally said I could take some Advil 45 minutes before, but that I'd have to come back for it. She wanted to do it right then and there with no anesthesia whatsoever! I've heard it hurts worse than natural childbirth (I had that, so I know what that's like). I'll try to find another doctor, but may have to wait for months. My doctor is scaring me a lot. Did you have thickened lining of your uterus too? If so, what did your doctor say about that? Will it disappear on its own, or do you have to get more scans to keep an eye on it?

Hi misspebbles, Seems like there is a huge variation when women go through menopause. Some do start in their late 30's. I started around 47. I would have been so perfectly happy to just forgo perimenopause. For some of us, it is filled with one surprise after another........and they're not the good kind of surprises! I remember during perimenopause, having sore breasts alot of the time at first. I was sort of surprised at this, but I guess its fairly common. My migraines got really bad during this time, but the good news is I don't have them anymore! I still have a couple of the visual auras a year, but no headache follows. So at least you might have that to look forward to (getting rid of your migraines). Good luck on your journey. Just make sure your seatbelt is fastened. :)

Hi melonwhelz, Sorry I didn't respond sooner, had a rough week taking my dog who has an incurable disease to all these different vets. He will be okay and I will just pray for the best as he is my bestest friend. Anyway, the day after I posted, I started to spot, thought I was going to get my period, but nope! It never happened. I have to make an app't to see my gyno. Yes, my body is very confused and sending mixed messages to my brain which I hate! At least when I had Lyme I knew all my symptoms including the mood swings and depression, but this is a whole new ballgame! I am feeling a different type of depression, almost like I am bored but too tired to do anything about it. I did receive the book "Awakening at Midlife" yesterday so I am going to start reading that. How is your sister? I help many people who have Lyme Disease because it is horrible and so misunderstood, especially by doctors because they don't know how to treat it. What helped me recover was following a book written by a brilliant doctor named Dr. David Jernigan (Beating Lyme Disease Using Alternative Medicine". I know so many people that are cured now because of Dr. Jernigan. Maybe your sister should buy the book? Anyway, I feel so drained, is that normal? I need to vacuum and do some laundry but I'm not doing it, LOL! I am laughing at your drumroll:::: THE CHANGE! Oh why oh why don't men get this? Yeah, I'm bad. Denise

Thanks - we haven't been on vacation for 3 yrs and dd is too young to remember. Christmas is going to be tight this year, so the WDW is the big gift for the kids (plus a birthday party - dd's first with school friends). It's hard having both of their bdays a month b4 Xmas anyway (and one is always Tgiving week). I really want to make this special for them - we even made reservations for a "princess lunch" while we were there (we could cancel that to save $$$, but since I've already told dd about it probably not good idea). DS is getting the short end of the stick this year since most of his friends can't come to the party, and we're not doing anything "special" like the princesses for him in WDW, but he's thrilled just to be going - he remembers 3 years ago and is looking forward to going on some of the new rides like Everest. I'm glad at least I'll be able to go with him - DH isn't much for roller coasters - I went on Space Mtn with ds last time (and he was a bit scared but wants to do it again now). I'm just going to make DH take him on Tower of Terror b/c I won't do that again - went on it b4 we had kids, never again! DD is also looking forward to going on some of the rides, even though she's still too small for many of them. My uncle has been complaining the past couple years about my aunt going through the change, you'd think DH would catch on that I'm not just being crabby all the time because of the move/trying to finish the house while we're living in it or dd's whining (though those don't help), that sometimes I just don't feel well (esp at night with night sweats, so I don't get much sleep). Hopefully the BCP (once I can get back on them) will not only make my periods lighter but maybe also act like HRT and alleviate some of the other symptoms of perimenopause? I didn't have night sweats until after I'd been off them a few months.
