Hmm Munkos, well yes, we put a new mirror in the bathroom, and rather than admire his beautiful markings in the shiny new mirror, Simba lavishes all his attention on the wall and spooks Mama late at night. Haha, our cats too weren't sure what to make of the ceiling fans the first summer. They weren't scared, though, just a lil over-ambitious - when they realised they couldn't jump high enough to catch the fan, they settled for lying on their backs and swatting up at the fan :-P You may be right, there probably was an insect (or something else of interest) in there before, and he remembers it, but then usually all three cats 'hunt' together, and Nikita should've been right up there with him with her cute lil chirps. Also, why would he do that only at night? Maybe some noise coming from the other side, but I could hear nothing - I tried last night. I can't begin to tell you how spooked I am right now - everything Simba does, everywhere he looks, I have to check out. He's also asking for more attention than before, more purring, more sucking on the tail (he does that when he's anxious and just before he goes to sleep), more 'Ma-maaaa' in top volume all around the house, when he's not yowling, he's sitting in my lap, or somewhere near me. (DH still finds it funny that I'm scared all the time; I'm thinking of dressing up as a ghost - flowing white robes and all - and waking him up while Simba's screaming his head off - maybe that will make DH take this a lil seriously. Lol) Well I'm hoping the yowling routine stops before I land a job!

Elly-there has been nothing out of the ordinary going on in my home.No kids here,no other pets that haven't always been here,same litter after trying different ones that didn't make any difference.I tried confining her,no luck there either.Tried Nature's miracle,washed everything I could that she has peed on but she goes right back and pees again.If I put litter boxes in every spot she has peed on they would be lining the walls and on the furniture in every room!LOL We keep the doors to the bedrooms closed and DH normally closes his at night but left it open the night she peed on his bed because it was hot in there. Livvysmom-,I really don't think the Cat Attract litter would help.She uses the litter box ALL the time for pooping,just not all the time for peeing.I do confine her to my bedroom,bathroom and computer room at night and part of the day(they are all connected).Her litter box is in the computer room which is the only feasable place for it.She pees under my bed and in the bathtub at night or if she is confined to those rooms during the day.If I close her up in the computer room she howls and scratches on and under the door all night.She has even pulled up the carpet under the bathroom door because I locked her in there one night!I have even tried taking her water up at night thinking if she doesn't drink water she won't pee.WRONG!!!!LOL I am in the same position as your sister.I can't afford to replace furniture and carpet and as bad as I hate to I may have no other recourse but to put her down.I thought about trying to find her another home but who else would want the problem? I know you have a lot of suggestions on this problem. Ive read the three most common reasons why cats STOP using the litter box are illness, stress, and unsprayed females will mark territory almost like males. If she is spayed and you are 100% sure she is not ill or uncomfortable, it must be stress. Experts write volumes and conduct tests on cat stressÂthey are very prone to it. A sudden nose, loud TV, accidentally stepping on a cat foot, a scolding from owners for an unrelated reason, a dog or other cat Oddly almost any reason can cause a cat to associate stress with the litter box. They suggest litter box location is very important. Some cats want several escape routes from an litter box area. Never scold, hit or throw water on a catÂit can backfire. Cover critical things like furniture, carpets and beds with plastic or aluminum (visqueen, paper grocery sacks, aluminum foil). This is temporary. Cats will avoid areas covered in these materials and save you the stress of buying a new mattress or carpet. Try one of those new pheromone plug-ins. Spend a lot of time holding, petting, playing with the cat just in case you are the one stressing her. Experts suggest your own stress can transmit to the cat and frighten her. Obviously keep her out of the bedroom for the time being. Do not leave clothes, towels, pillows on the floor. Google cats, litter box, problems, etc. and read some thought and remedies from others.

Ms222 Oh my, what a great house on the water. You love modern...really nice table and chairs. If you go all modern and plan on keeping the same kitchen floor plan you will have to replace all the doors top and bottom, eliminate the two short staggered cabinets on top and add cabinets in their place on the same line as the others. Eliminate the upper moldings style and backsplash; the countertop would work fine as is. Eliminate the chair rails and replace all interior doors. I would paint your walls in a flat paint and see how you like it and then decide when or if to eliminate the texture. When I painted my son's textured walls in Behr porpoise gray flat paint we had to touch the walls to even know the texture was there. However, it's hard to see how much texture you have in your pictures and we don't know if there is texture behind the chair rails. Anyway, after all that you'll have a good start on transforming it all to a completely different look. I know it might seem overwhelming but once you get a start on it it will be fun. I almost envy you because I'm a gal who needs projects and mayhem; I'm in limbo now just fixing things up to sell for a future downsize. Not fun! In my next house I'm hoping to do a completely different style. I want to buy the little stinky 60's house across the street from the waterfront mansions.
