Menopause in your 30's...

Is there anyone that relate with being 32 yrs. old & going through a surgically induced menopause? Everything is going smooth as long as I take my Vivelle (looove it), but I have loss of memory & libido something fierce.

Maybe you need to have your doc check your testosterone levels??? With the loss of libido, that would be my first question. As far as I know, there are some women that take testosterone replacement in small amounts.

I was peri-menopausal at 35ish...went into menopause naturally at age 38. I'm now almost 43 and things are kind of getting better. I took an over the counter supplement off and on for a few years...and that helped a lot.

I think it's just a wait it out game. I've also dealt with the libido issue. Mostly I'm self-conscious because menopause took away my waistline and gave me a spare tire. That's been a big adjustment. I swear I'm going insane because of the memory loss! However, I'm finding that the fog is beginning to lift ever so slightly....

Your body is going to do what it has to. Things will settle down eventually. Until then try to explain to everyone, and yourself, that this is temporary. Your 'regular' self has gone on a vacation and someone you don't know is filling in....it is temporary!

Patience is the key!

I have given up on covering my Dutchman's Pipevine after last years fiasco with the wind removing all the clothespins. So this year I just covered the roots with alot of mulch and wrapped towels and rugs around them. We then used the frost cloth that used to be for the Pipevine to cover our huge crotons that we managed to keep alive last winter. Put a flood lamp under the cloth so hoping they will be okay. I spent Monday afternoon bringing in about 20 large pots of plants that are in bloom. Several new types of Salvias that I grew from cuttings, some Tithonia that reseeded themselves, Cosmos that did the same, Tuti-Fruiti Shrimp plant, Chinese Hat, some Milkweed with cats on it, and some herbs, plus my favorite Agastache that I just cut back a few weeks ago. Still had to leave out a bunch that are in huge pots, wrapped them in sheets best I could. I even used the dogs towels for bathing and pulled out my spring comforter and quilt to use on plants on the porch. DH brought all the other plants in pots that I put on the porch into the breakfast area and laundry room. What gets me is that this is all for one night, not that I want it to be more but just about the time I get everything back out, we'll get another cold night and it will have to be done again. Wish I could afford the domes shown above - how cool are those! Guess I should say - how warm!

I think (hope) doctors today have the mindset of sparing what organs they can. I've read/heard arguments on both sides of the story. Here's some info from the wall street journal health journal: Cutting Less More doctors are challenging the convention of removing the cervix during a hysterectomy. Here's why: * Pap smears have sharply reduced the incidence of cervical cancer. * Sparing the cervix reduces the risk of bladder damage. * Some doctors say it may improve sexual function. Some 600,000 hysterectomies are performed in the U.S. every year, making it the second-most common women's surgery after Caesarean section. It is done to remove cancers of the uterus or cervix, or more commonly to treat a painful condition called endometriosis or because of noncancerous uterine growths called fibroids. Prior to 1940, nearly all hysterectomies preserved the cervix because it was easier and safer given the lack of antibiotics and blood banks. But by the 1960s, removing the cervix, viewed as a cancer preventative at a time when Pap smears were still fairly new, became standard. Now the tide appears to be turning. In 2006, 9.7% of U.S. inpatient hysterectomies, which account for more than 90% of the procedures, preserved the cervix, compared with just 1.7% a decade earlier, according to federal data. ------- Just sharing that info, not saying they are right. dim4fun - thanks! My contractor indicated that it wouldn't be a good idea to defeat the stop as well. Anyway, davidr, do you know of a good source/brand for dimmable helical CFLs? As I said, I found these bulbs in the Neptun and Microbrite brands, but I didn't find any feedback on this site for those brands. Any suggestions for brands you like? Granite_man, thanks for the links, but I think both of those bulbs are still too long for my fixtures. I may try the shorter one if I can't get satisfactory results from a regular bulb. Thanks all!

Hmmm. I see the humor but I've been talking to my over 40 friends, and as a group we've come to the conclusion that assertiveness comes with maturity for women. I'm still polite, and while I don't give people sh!=++, I won't take it anymore. I don't write a letter a day to companies, but if something got me riled, I wouldn't hesitate to speak up. So, I don't think it's so much menopause that's driving my assertiveness as it's the confidence and (dare I say it) wisdom that comes with having lived a few years. Denise

I appreciate your time & kind advice. I see my Doctor on the 20th so hopefully he can help further. I took an additional hormone patch 2 weeks ago on my own & the results were wonderful, (it even helped my libido!). As far as the memory loss & sputtering I guess patience is what I will have, it is so annoying! I have been quite intelligent & knowledgeable all my life, now sadly it is all lost beneath a fog-I now feel truly stupid. I joke about it now so that lightens my feelings a bit. I have a wonderful supportive family so that's a godsend. Thank you for your help!!

I had every test known to man done on me and everything checks out ok. I had a cyst removed from 1 of my bartholin glands. After that I have not menstruated since. It has been about 2 Â½ year. I was only 36 at the time. I have been on hormones and they made me nuts. I would cry all the time. Now, I have noticed that I am aging very fast. I have always been told that I look 10 to 15 years younger then I really am. Now in 2 Â½ years, people are saying I look like I am 40. Is it the hormones? What is going on? My skin texture feels different and my hair is more mousey. Is this normal? Need to know if there are people out there who are going though the same thing. I need help, advice and suggestions. Thanks!

I'm going to be 31 one this year.
I have strong signs of menopause.
From no period...or a very random spotting.
I'm ornery and moody and pmsing all the time.
I have strange hair growth. ie. Chin, moustache...
low sex drive...

I'm just worried.
