I think a neutral cream shade like SW Ivoire would be a good backdrop for both decors. You could always go basic beige like SW Kilim Beige, but I think Ivoire is more cheery and warm. I have Ivoire in my living room with blue rugs and chairs and it looks very nice. It goes well with green as well. SW Blonde is a very popular neutral yellow/gold-similar to Ivoire but a little darker. But in a bright space, Blonde can really look "gold" rather than neutral. I have it in my formal dining room and most of the time I really like it, but when the afternoon sun comes in the bay window, it looks really gold. In the evening when you're most apt to use a formal dining room, Blonde looks great. But you might want to take a look at it as it's one of SW's top selling colors and decorators use it quite a bit.

What about something like this? I think the lines would work with the table, and the single large button would be a charming nod to the curtain pattern. Fresno dining chair Not this fabric, they have tons of other choices, and I would likely go with something lighter to balance all the dark in the room. Maybe this one? I like how it seems to have the richer brown and gold tones in the drapery woven into the lighter fabric. audrey basket Good point about measuring to be sure the table will fit, with room to move around and pull out the chairs. Once you get all the drapery ironed and put up permanently, you can decide on a wall color. You will have a lot of dark fabric in that smaller space, so I would be inclined to go lighter on the walls. I would think a softer cream, maybe SW Napery. You could also do a warm grey or a soft blue.Be sure to paint the ceiling the same color, so that the walls fall away a bit. For lighting, I think a drum shade pendant would be great, and again would hint at the circles in the fabric. Deciding on that might wait until you get your chairs (if they are going to be fabric) and your wall color in place, as that might change your decision about the drum shade color/pattern.

Though I'm not a fan of mirrors - I think your room is beautiful. It sounds as if your furniture is modern -ish and in my opinion emphasizing the modern elements would look best. Keep the color scheme as simple as possible. As for the mirror - is there space for items in front of it - narrow tables (slim tables that are 18" wide) or plants? There are also vinyl cut outs that may stick to the glass - I don't know - but I've googled them and there are so many....I think as long as anything you use is simple - not ornate - clean lines - organic forms - it should look ok. Or maybe if you felt you needed to - suspend a curtain from the ceiling - well suspend the curtain rod.

Could you hang the mirror vertically in the foyer where the round one is now? You could make use of those nice high ceilings. Might make for a more dramatic first impression into your home. I would also prefer art in the dining room. Not because I believe in some rule of no mirrors. Everything else is so neutral I think the room needs something snazzy that an amazing piece of art can give. Doesn't matter that there's another canvas nearby in the living room.
