looking for a 30' cast iron white farmhouse sink

I'm a newbie on this site - we're gutting our kitchen and creating a new one. We've picked out most everything - vintage white cabinets, dark/distressed wood floors, raven caesarstone countertops. I'm trying to find a 30" cast iron farmhouse sink but I'm having trouble finding one. Most seem to come in 33" length. Can anyone recommend one?? Thank you so much!

Kohler makes the best cast iron sinks. They just call theirs "apron front".

Sounds like a rustic kitchen. Have you ever considered copper? I found that mine is easy to care for.

If you are going with solid counters, any farmhouse sink can be upmounted rather than undermounted. You won't have a lip that rests on the counter though. The sink will abut the adjacent counters and have a bead of caulk in between. That caulk will eventually fail, and water will drip down into the cabinet, so keeping a vigilant eye one it (just like you would with an undermount sink) is necessary.

If you wash dishes in a short top, your navel will get really cold! Cast iron is tough stuff with a long history of use and abuse. Use a mat or plastic dishpan when you handwash your good crystal becuase it's hard, and enjoy a beautiful sink.

We went with the Kohler Whitehaven, which I ordered from a seller on Houzz. When the contractors opened the box to install the sink (about three months after we had received it), they discovered that it was cracked in a couple places. Kohler replaced the sink and in fact sent the replacement by rush mail in order to not delay the rest of the kitchen project. We love the sink and the experience with Kohler was by far my best customer service experience ever, which I believe is one of the reasons people love Kohler products. I highly recommend this sink and I also highly recommend opening products as soon as you receive them to check for damage!

I love my cast iron Kohler Whitehaven. I have the grills for the bottom and it looks as good as the day it was installed 2 years ago. The Whitehaven is also easier to install then a traditional apron front sink so it can also save on installation cost. One problem is that the Whitehaven is on backorder, possibly for a few more months due to a fire at the Kohler plant that makes them. I have always had a cast iron sink and like them. You should look at both fireclay and cast iron in person because occasionally someone will say that they don't like the look of cast iron compared to fireclay. I was also concern about the durability of fireclay. Many are very happy with them, but disaster can happen. Monomoy- What size sink base did you use? It looks like a 30" whitehaven, but I cant tell. I'm considering a whitehaven because they are self-trimming and am curious how that works. Let me know if you have and feedback.

What is "self trimming?"

Do apron front sinks work well with laminate counter?

I know there are supposed to be products now where undermount is okay. I'm not excited about being part of that test group though!

Mine is a 30" whitehaven and the 30" base. They come in two models... basically the same, but two different depths. The 9" is for new construction and the 6" is for an existing cabinet that you would cut the "draws" out of. My cabinet designer ordered the 30" base with the "blank" that works well with the 9". Kohlers web site has the specs. Because the sink is so heavy, the inside of the cabinet needs to be reinforced.... simple to do and their is a video explaining how.

Love the sink, 30" for me is plenty big.
