KT gone GW gone!!

Did the thought of no more KT or GW give you a sinking feeling?

That's how AOL message board posters are feeling. We got a notice about a month ago that they were shutting down all message boards on Feb 20th (tomorrow) We dont know if it is at the stroke of midnight or what.

Everyone has been scrambling around for forums and boards to go to so they dont lose friendships made over 10 - 15 years.

Today is the last chance to visit any AOL board you might have visited in the past

I hope you are inviting some of them over here. There is plenty of room at the table.

That's a good way to post how you're feeling. I know that I would really miss the KT. And most assuredly, invite them here. Our numbers have dwindled so the room around the table would fit all who'd like to join.

I am so, so sorry. I'd followed your story of Mickey and all that you'd done for him to get him well. He was doing so well, it is such a shock for this to happen. But he definitely knew he was loved, and he returned it with love and gratitude. You are such a wonderful person to have done all you did for him. I was looking for reviews of washers and dryers when I needed to buy a new one. Google found the Laundry Forum. I don't think I even joined at that time - I just read what I needed and left for probably a few years. Then when I decided to remodel my kitchen I kind of remembered GW That Home Site had kitchen stuff too so I came back. Then I joined and became totally immersed in the Kitchen site for about two years. Once I was done with that project I drifted around to Cooking and some other places. Someone else from Kitchens who was done with their kitchen suggested KT. I checked in here for a while but didn't find I had much in common with most folks since a lot of people seemed to be retired. I probably still don't have all that much in common with a lot of people here but I now check in daily to see if there's anything going on that's at all relevant to me.

I know it has happened on some forums. I guess it hadn't happened here before. No panic. Just not a really happy camper when I came here and it was all gone. We have these FB pages because we were in a bit of a panic when we heard Houzz was buying GW several years ago. Some forum members started the FB pages as a way for all of us to stay in touch if something happened to GW. It is nice because now we have multiple ways to communicate.

I used to participate in some chat rooms that are gone now. They were "real time". Are there still rooms like that? I haven't gone looking. Now I do all my chatting on GW and FB.

Why not just create your own free forums there are many free hosting options, I have done that for several groups when the same thing happened to their favorite forum. This way you can all stay together at one place.

My AOL GH-OT folder decided to move over to a Facebook private group as soon as we heard the news.

No worries, you can always find someone through our website, all the information is there. If this board ever goes down we can still get another one started with all the information I gathered.

Thanks all Yes several forums have been set up
I dont think we'll lose GW or KT although we were a little worried when Spike sold it .
