Narrow dining tables...your experience please!
Comments (28)I had a 28" wide table custom built for my screened in porch, wanted to be able to seat 8 without overwhelming the room with a huge table. It works very well, no plates touch but they are close and I use multiple small flower vases and votives scattered along the table. We have a serving buffet nearby so need for large platters but smaller serving dishes fit. In my opinion many table are wider than they need to be. Dining at a narrower table is a more intimate experience. Also as someone commented above, a standard runner looks great as it fills much of the table top....See MoreNarrow Dining Table Rec's
Comments (5)I'm having a 5 foot long and 24 inch wide table built for our small breakfast nook. It can't be any wider or it will interfere with the path from the door outside to the kitchen. I plan on using it for people to sit on one side and talk to me while I cook or a place where my husband can bring in one or two cowboys for a cup of coffee. Tall people can sit on the ends. But since it will mostly be for two people to four, it will be great. We are having steel legs bent. Then putting a hardwood irregular top on it. Kind of like Urban Hardwoods table. Comments (2)Thanks so much -- just what I was looking for! I googled and googled, but "dining room chair styles" must've been too narrow a search. I appreciate it!...See MoreLong and narrow kitchen / dining layout
Comments (9)The sink and DW tucked into the angle means that you can't have the DW open while you're standing at the sink, and you'll potentially be prepping over the DW (it can be done, but isn't ideal). Putting the DW to the left of the sink makes it easier to use - but when it's open, it will block the aisle. Perhaps swapping the DW and trash would help - but then the end cabinet gets narrower and potentially less useful. With no upper cabinets by the range, where will you keep spices and cooking oils? The drawers next to the range will be taken up with cooking utensils, potholders, pots and pans. While no uppers opens up the space, I don't know if you have enough storage to make it work. It's important to work out what will be stored where as you go along....See Morelynxe
