Pot Racks

My kitchen ceiling is pitched. Is a pot rack possible to install? Does anyone have a pot rack hanging from their kitchen ceiling?

If your ceiling's pitched, you could attach a flat rack straight across from 'seam' to seam and hang everything from there.

Okay. Let's use a little logic here. You level the pot rack by shortening the chains on one side to compensate for the slope of the ceiling. Just make sure you have head clearance below the lower end.

We did have pots hanging from a beam near our back door. When the back door was open and there was a breeze, yes, they did have a wind-chime effect. Not sure if a fan would blow that hard, though. Can you and a friend rig up a temporary setup? (Broom handle and some S hooks, maybe?) Turn the fan on high, each of you hold one end of the broom up, or prop it on step ladders, and see what happens.

We've got one hanging just to the right of our stove, and it's handy, so far as having the pots and pans right there, but it's also kind of a pain because it gets in the way when you try and lean over the counter when preparing food for meals. Additionally, the one we have is about 2'x3' powder coated wrought iron. and has a shelf on the top of it for storage, where we initially kept all the pan lids. It only took one time for one of those lids to slip between the strips of wrought iron and "el kabong" my wife in the forehead, and now nothing gets stored up there. When we finally DO get around to remodeling, I have a feeling that thing's going to end up as part of a "yahd sale". :-)

I made a custom pantry pullout with metal pegboard. It has a stainless finish and is quite attractive. I got it from this company... Diamondlife Pegboard They make metal pegboard in various finishes and colors, as well as plastic or hardboard pegboard. Custom sizes too. (no affiliation, just a customer.)

If you want a wall mounted one, I've used a curtain rod above my kitchen window for years. This is not mine but what I did - as all my pans are down for polishing. You could get a corner piece as shown for a rod to turn the corner. eta: took me so long to post this, I didn't see that suero found what you are probably looking for.

i love my potrack..you can hang them from any ceiling..you might just have to buy new longer chain for the sides that will be on the higher pitched side..or longer for all of them if it is quite high..but that's ok.

make sure you fasten your chains into the ceiling studwork to hold the weight of the pans.

go for it..it is a wonderful thing to have pans handy ..some people complain that they get dirty..they dont that bad and if they do ..pop em into a short load on the dishwasher !

DH put a shelf across the dining area. I painted it in a contrasting white. Underneath it he put in cuphooks that I use as a potrack. We call it our 'sh@@' shelf because I can stash my cookbooks, fake flowers, etc. on the shelf.
