Lighting..same metal on all fixtures.....
Comments (2)I sure don't think you have to worry about matching other fixtures with crystal chandeliers, as in having them all have crystal. Most crystal fixtures have some kind of metal, so you could coordinate with that. Our fixtures are mostly black, but there are some dark gray mixed in. In the bedrooms, the fixture I chose came only in ORB or satin nickel, and my dd convinced me to go ahead with ORB, even though the brown wasn't consistent with the grays and black scheme, because the brown would blend better with the other darker fixtures present throughout most of the house. The brighter nickel would've brought attention to itself, while most probably won't notice the ORB isn't black. I didn't stick with the darker fixtures in the kitchen and baths...I did chrome in the baths to match the faucets and towel bars, and satin nickel in the kitchen, since the color scheme is fairly light and I thought black would be too stark. My hardware in there is weathered nickel or pewter, so would 'go' with either, while matching neither....See MoreARE all Polished nickel finishes same color?
Comments (16)I know I'm 8 years late, but thank you for the post. Am updating a bathroom from 1995 with polished nickel. Most fixtures are far enough apart, but the deck tub is giving me angst. Tub is enclosed in tile so, no access to update the valves. Fixtures are Moen (Chateau I think, gold with acrylic knobs) Garden Tub variety. Research has shown that I cannot replace the spout with anything newer (and certainly not in polished nickel). Found some PN tub handles with a modification kit for the H/C stems, but no options for the spout. Was going to send the gold spout out for metal plating to polished nickel and was concerned how the spout would appear next to the handles. Thanks to this post, I will have a few handle options on standby and see if anything will work. If bad enough, will find inexpensive handles and have them plated to match the spout, will be costly, but...an option. OR...maybe just sling a hand towel over the spout. ;)...See MoreWall lights on back of house. Should all fixtures be the same?
Comments (19)Well, I took another look and found 2 more options for coach lights that are not deep (flush mount style). These would be for the front of the house. I am happy to put in four of option C for the back, so that is settled. It is just the front now, that I am debating (despite the title of this thread). Option E (comes in a few sizes and is roughly 6.75 " deep). The best part is it is an LED light. It is made by Artcraft, so it has a very long guarantee on the finish (Canadian company -- we know winters). Option F This one is also Artcraft (with long finish guarantee). It is the least expensive of the options. Unfortunately, it only comes in a small and medium size, and I was thinking to put a large size at the front doors considering they are very tall (8 feet). Any preferences for the options above? Do you like the Murray Feiss ones (option D), or one of the Artcraft ones: options E or F. I can no longer consider options A and B as I have concluded we don't have the room for coach lights that are standard depth. Please vote on your favourite front of house coach light option. Thanks Carol...See MoreOpen floor plan, do my light fixtures need to be all same metal finish
Comments (2)The first two lights we ordered in brushed nickel, and those are the ones backordered. The last one we already received and my husband already installed bc he’s antsy, so can’t really return....we want something like the first two but can’t seem to find it in nickel. I’ve found similar items in matte black and antique leaf silver. Were in the process of redoing our kitchen, so we are changing everything out from ORB to brushed or satin nickel...See Moregardenchick1
