Glass front cabs - are xenon lights too hot?

I have just replaced old fluorescent fixtures inside built-in glass door cabs with xenon fixtures (under-cab style, but mounted them inside the cabs on top surface). DH is very concerned they are way too hot to have near stuff in these cabs - books, nick nacks, photos, etc.

I spoke with the manufacturer and they gave me a vague CYA-type answer - probably shouldn't use the fixtures without more ventilation, really designed for under cab use, but not specifically prohibited for inside cabs, blah, blah. Fixtures are by Creative Systems Lighting, Counter Attack CAX120-8SS, using 1-35 watt G8 xenon lamp each (4 fixtures total in 4 cabs).

Do I have a problem? Should I return these fixtures (already installed) to the store that recommended them? What to do???

Here is a link that might be useful: Creative Systems Lighting web site
