It only said that they "can type 2 pages in 2 minutes". It didn't stated whether that's the max they can do in 2 minutes. They could as well type 3 pages in 2 minutes. If that is so, then, only 2 typists are needed. It could also means the 1 typist can type 3 pages in 2 minutes.

Thus, my answer would be that it would take 1 or 2 typists.

Sylvia is correct - 6 typists.

One typist can type one page in two minutes therefore one typist can type 3 pages (6/2=3) in 6 minutes. But you need 18 pages therefore you need 6 (18/3=6) typists.

I am agreeing with the 6 typists calculation.

I'm still trying to figure out the angle of the trick question? I'm dumb! I would say three, but it's so easy, there must be something I'm missing?
