Film is very inexpensive and there are abundant choices.

For any treatment, you want to consider how much light will be blocked, how much privacy will be provided and whether or not you can adjust the treatment without stepping into the tub.

That's such a pretty window! You could put privacy film on each window pane. It is not expensive. Or make miniature curtains with small pleats and hang them on rings on an inside mount cafe rod.

In the meantime, you can cut out pieces of wax paper and place on each pane for privacy.

What direction do the windows face? Maybe try covering them with a pretty fabric like shown at the link below.

The window actual has a nice view of the lovely big Japanese maple across the driveway. Is there any option we can see that from inside but people outside can't see in.. Am I looking at one way glass? If I do fabric, is a curtain better or a roman shade? How about a longer curtain like the one that Bee has?

Annie- the shower is right across and the person in the shower will be visible from chest and higher for anyone reasonably tall standing in the driveway on the other side of the window. So need full privacy. I am wondering if curtains or shades that can be drawn during showering alone is a good idea. Will it become tiresome to close the window before showers and one it again after?

Chemocurl- I am not liking the fabric in window look for my space. Looks pretty in that pic through.

How does that window open? It's not clear from the pic....does it swing out like an awning? From the 2nd pic it looks like you might get sufficient privacy by covering just the bottom 2 panes and let natural light in from the top.

So you may be served by a duette type shade that would operate from the left and would be bottoms up/top down...or you can do the same with a woven wood blind...but those can be dark and unless they're lined they provide more of a sense of privacy than actual privacy at night.

I'm still figuring out what to do for privacy in my own master bath window, so until I do, I gathered an open weave fabric on a rod and used it to cover the lower half....still get light and air through it, but no one can see in.

Or you might go with a patterned roller shade...no idea how much they cost though.

Hi Annie - It is an awning window that pushed up from the bottom. As the window is shorter than it is wider, I am wondering if it will look wierd if I just cover the lower panes

I sent a message to HGTV a few days ago and have not heard back. The product page did not list the blinds, what's up with that? They linked just about everything else in that house!

I put plantation shutters on my wood windows in my bath and had them designed so I can leave the upper slats open for the light and view and close the lower slats for privacy (or close them all, or angle them to afford privacy, etc.) I close the bottoms during showers or at night when getting ready for bed, then open them all for the openness I love. You can design as many slats as you want in either pivot.

Got it- Hunter Douglas Designer Roller Shade.

Since I need privacy I put some of film on the lower part of my window Ian's just ordered plantation cafe style shutters. I don't like the window film look so the shutters can stay open but will help hide the film. I put a valance on top.

Would prolly be cost prohibitive but I could see a beautiful stained glass window there :)

Since you have that vintage feel tub, how about something lacy and romantic on the window? I have Battenburg lace on mine...white solid with the lace trim

kkay morgan - DH nixed both stained glass and the lace curtain suggestion got me the "look". We are trying to keep the bathroom gender neutral :)

Turns out I have a pair of bifold plantation shutters for this size. Will that work or is too hokey?

DD2 purchased "frosted glass" looking film at Lowe's recently for the MBath. Over that, she has installed tension rods (top and bottom) and shirred cream burlap she already owned. You can't see through it at all, even at night, but the light is able to come through.

I think shutters will work. You can paint them to add interest
