.. Yes. Yes. It has been very dry here in so cal. You were just spreading the coffee grounds so you probably already know that the worms just dig it when you mulch with coffee grounds. If you've left a thick layer of coffee grounds you'll find worms in there in just a few weeks. I like to mulch with grass clippings on top of the coffee grounds to mitigate the coffee ground crusting. I too get the big bags of coffee grounds on the way home from work but my back is complaining. I like the little bags because they are easier to spread in tight little spaces. I love the big bag splat too though. We have a lovely misty rain right now. I removed the covers off my too dry bins this morning. The rain is so light it won't wash any compost away in the bins. The hard dry soil is slowly drinking it in. Just perfect. Damn. The grass will be wet. I guess it's one more day I can't mow. I hope you're getting the same down south. ..

We're sleep deprived. Thursday and Friday nights our Westie was up and down ten times from his bed at the foot of our bed (and ON our bed). He was trying to escape *some* kind of pain. He refused to eat Wednesday night. He's often gone without eating for three days, then is right as rain, but we planned to take him to the vet this morning -- he's never seemed in pain before! The vet opens at 8:30. About 4 a.m. Eliot stopped pacing and shaking and went quietly to sleep -- us too. I got up quietly this morning and made rice and chicken. Sure enough, Eliot came out and went right to his dish. I gave him a half cup of rice/chicken, then another half cup 30 minutes later. DH walked him and brought home the small stool he passed. We took Eliot and the stool to the vet. He'd passed a twist-tie! WHERE did he pick THAT up? We'll watch carefully for blood. The vet said we would have just watched and waited regardless -- no surgery. She said veterinary magazines run contests to show what dogs have swallowed, and that this is minor. I'm sure it didn't feel minor to Eliot! Early to bed for all of us tonight.

I joined in 2006/07. Spike was either still around and left shortly after, or had recently left (I'm thinking the former?). Either way, I remember all of the Disney and teacup "threats!" LOL I joined because many Google searches for this or that; kitchen/appliance queries, kept leading me to the Kitchen forum or the Appliance forum. I lurked for a short time (during which, I figured out how to navigate GW!), and finally joined so I could post my own threads, and to post questions on others' threads. One of the best kitchen-reno decisions I made! HUGE shout-out and continued thanks to my friend rococogurl!!! Without her clear-headed advice, support, virtual hand-holding, and even, prodding, we never would have had the confidence (guts!) to push for a buy-back of the crappy (and expensive!) new range we had purchased for/during our reno. That alone was worth the "price of admission!" My favorite thing (besides the camaraderie, and advice), is seeing the pics everyone has posted of their reno's--love seeing what everyone has done from low-high budget, tiny to large spaces, sleek and simple to over-the-top opulence; I love it all. I share in everyone's joys (and the sorrows) along the way, and often wish I could visit so many of the kitchens, and their wonderful owners! Happy weekend GW!!!

What an odd looking shark, Lucille! Almost creepy. Regarding sharks, here's a fun article from National Geographic, showing the size of a few shark species in relation to humans. Click HERE for National Geo.
