How to reglue bathroom cabinet mirrors
Comments (4)Hi and thanks. I have a product called "No More Nails" that seems like it would do the trick, any idea if it would be suitable in this case? My understanding is that "mirror safe" products are special only because they won't chemically damage the mirror, but I'm wondering if the paper-sticker backing won't create a protective layer in between? Perhaps I'm wrong and Mirror Mastic is recommended also for it's holding power....See MoreBathroom mirror sizing
Comments (16)I really doubt the rentability of your property is dependent upon the bathroom mirror. It looks like your mirror might be set in a metal channel? We had a similar installation in our last house and in addition to the channel the darn thing was adhered to the wall. Can-of-worms. I left it alone and updated the lights, floor and wall color only. From what I can see in the pictures, the yellow paint is not doing your granite any favors. I'd seriously start there. Benjamin Moore's Muslin is great go-to light beige. We "neutralized" our house by putting Muslin on all the walls last year. It looked fantastic and it sold above asking in 15 hours. Your tiles look fine, but the dark grout definitely dates it. If you're ambitious, you could lighten the grout but then you might create a maintenance issue because I bet that dark grout hides a lot. Here's a blog post about grout project: Grout Renew...See MoreIs there a "trending" choice in bathroom faucet finishes?
Comments (26)Place I'm staying during my remodel has polished brass. I notice it every time I walk in. And not in a good way. Even though it may be trendy now (this stuff went in a long time ago), it's still not common and stands out. I guess I don't want my hardware to stand out that much. The finish is also deteriorating. Ick. My alternative to chrome, which is just too bright for me, is polished nickel. It has a little color to it and is (to me) classic. And Cal Faucets has a PVD polished nickel which has a lifetime guarantee. As I understand it, polished nickel is fairly easy to match. All the faucets are coming from Cal Faucets but the bath drain hardware will come from Kohler. I'm comfortable that any difference won't bug me (I'm somewhere in the middle of pickiness on this: more than some, less than others.) I'm using oil rubbed bronze for my door hardware but polished nickel for all my plumbing hardware....See Morehow many light fixtures over large vanity mirror in bathroom?
Comments (6)A double light over each sink should be sufficient with a window and assuming the shower is directly across from the vanity and that is the extent of the room. Other options are three single sconces mounted on the mirror and an over head light to give more light to the shower. I have a four-light over a 60" vanity in a 5x11 windowless room. The vanity area is well-lit. The shower at the end of the room is a little more shadowed but not enough to make showering and cleaning an issue....See Moreanitamo
