building new small laundry room

i would like to make a laundry room in my small home as a christmas gift to myself.

i have a small open storage area at the end of the hallway by the back door. its about 3ft wide and 24 inches in depth- the depth is flexible as the back door opens to the back porch. but do plan on getting one of the shallower stacked gas sets.

kitchen and bath are on either side of the hallway and close to the planned laundry area. home has a crawlspace and original 1920's wood floors- will reinforce joists from under the crawlspace. breaker box is on the exterior wall just outside the planned laundry area.

i know i'll need plumbing, drain, gas, venting and possibly electrical work. question is ballpark figure to expect and what's involved. i will get several estimates but i like to get an idea of the proposed materials and what the hookups should look like.

bump - any thoughts? This is a new build - I don't think the bath is very efficient - too many doors. I am at a loss at how to reconfigure it. Musts: 2 36" vanities, 3x5 shower, linen closet, closet that is able to hold hanging + drawers (no dresser in bedroom) - access to laundry room from master bath or closet. We do not need a separate WC. Thank you.

We are working on the plan for our upcoming retirement home build. The laundry room will be off the main entry and will also serve as a mud room as it will have a door going out to a second entry porch. I am debating going from my old top load washer set up to a front load. My main reason being that I will gain counter space above the units that could be used as a folding station. I'm 5'4" so wondered if these units are too tall for a usable folding area. Realistically I will still probably take the laundry to my bed and fold there, but hubby says he wants a dedicated place to fold. Yes, he folds his own, I made it known from the get go that I hate folding so would do mine and the kids only! Here is the basic layout. The cabinets on the front wall will only be 15" deep. I may get rid of some and create a bench with hooks for coats but not sure yet. The door into the entry is a pocket door. I have pulled the cabinet with the sink in it forward as I plan to have a hanging rod above the sink. Here is a set up on Pinterest that I like.

This is what I have in mind: Two 15" wide by 90" high cabinets to the left of the washer/dryer. The one closest to the wall would be 24" deep and would have drawers and doors. The second box would be 15" deep and I'm wondering if just open shelves would be the most convenient? That unit would be flush and attached to the other cabinet but somehow removeable (maybe on casters?). By having it 15" deep it would accomodate the large plug in in the back, along with the dryer vent. Then we would run a shelf above the washer for large, but light, bins of storage. I'd also love to continue using my laundry shoot so a basket would be up there as well. And yes, I would need a stool to get the basket :(
