I found someone selling their remnants of Calacatta Gold on craigslist. I would've loved to have used them for my perimeter counters, but one of the slabs is only 24" wide so I don't think that will work. So, I was thinking of using these as a 24" high backsplash. If I did this, what would you use for the counter for the perimeter and the island. At this point(nothing ordered yet), the perimeter wall is painted black and the island is quartersawn oak in it's natural color. I had been leaning towards a stainless perimeter and marble island, but if I do the marble in the backsplash, not sure about putting marble on the island(and, I really don't know if I can afford Calaccata Gold for an entire island).

The look I'm going for is "industrial chic", whatever that means....LOL!!!
