Recommendations for 2nd floor stacked W/D

Hi! I have been reading and reading this forum but I haven't found any recent recs. We are buying a new construction with a laundry closet on the 2nd floor--no there is really no option but a stacked W/D on the 2nd floor. (the house is 3 stories tall)

I called LG and talked with the rep who didn't really have a clue but says that any of their units are OK to stack on the 2nd floor if the floor is "reinforced", but no info on what reinforced really means--the rep put me on hold multiple times to look info up. Then they advised to install on the ground floor, but the house is not built for that.

At Home Depot they told me that they don't advise using any W/D, including LG stacked on the 2nd floor, except the brand new 3100's which are pretty expensive. At Fry's they recommended the Samsung with VRT. The builder has the Duet sports as an option.

Help!

Karen
