I'm with Clive -- just eat the jam carefully.

ICE! Around your bottle of wine and crushed in a bag where your back hurts. Just fifteen minutes sipping from the glass and leaning in your chair against the bag of ice will help. Repeat both as needed.

I am so sorry, your day sucks. But don't mishaps come in threes? You've had them - you are due for good times ahead.

I would probably try to pour the jam out on something large like a jellyroll pan to try to find the glass tip, then reheat and put in jars. It sounds too good to waste.

Put the ice on your burned belly too.....and go to bed!! Don't touch anything more! Don't even go to the bathroom without help....and above all do not try to open a wine bottle yourself!

Nexcare by 3M makes these amazing weird bandages that work wonders on "small" area burns and raspberries.(LOL) you know "carpet burn or road rash"...
Anyway they make a moist healing environment and I didn't believe how well they worked till the Big Boy got a serious raspberry full of dirt from sliding headfirst on baseball clay into 2nd base..Those bandages healed him up in just a few days with NO scabbing and itching..hardly a scar too. His boo boo was about the size of a small adult hand...They aren't for the faint...lol, because the healing process is groady! but they really really work!

I think the cookie sheet idea for the glass is a great idea..

Maybe this will make you chuckle. Something happened to me today too... well, I happened to me. I wanted to use my juicer for the first time in several months today. I cut the apples, carrots, and cucumber. Washed the grapes. Ran everything through the machine and proceeded to break down and clean the juicer. A task I dread, but is much easier if done sooner rather than later. In flow of cleaning, I picked up the glass that had all the juice in it that I'd just made, poured it down the sink, and put the cup the dishwasher. Cleaned the rest of the machine and when to sit down with my juice. Then I realized what I'd done... I said a few words that I can't repeat on this forum. The cat got scared. A lot of work to have that as the end result! That's nothing compared to what happened to you though!

I must be getting old fast... what little there was to begin with of my mind is going fast... thanks for reminding us that September is just around the corner!

What about trying to put your jam through some sort of sieve? It would be worth a shot, shame to have to throw it away after all that hard work.

Oh Bobby, that is hysterical. I've done that sort of thing, too, but usually with something like a cup of coffee. I did it with homemade salad dressing once. It was just a small amount. I had it in a glass. I cleaned up the counter and put everything away. I couldn't find the salad dressing and then found the glass in the dw, so I guess I poured it away.

Chase, it does sound like you had a bad day! I hope tomorrow is much better. Take care of yourself.

The raspberry jam, oh geez, that does suck. I agree, run it through a sieve and see if you can find that thermometer tip.

It sounds like you were having some difficult Mars and/or Uranus transits. I generally have accidents during those periods, and for many years I've tracked the transits so that I can predict when they will happen and take Librium to lessen the effects. I haven't done this lately, but maybe I should. After a couple of really lousy days last week, part of my recovery effort has been trying to think of how much worse it could have been. Your story fits into the effort under the category of "at least I have no physical injuries". Drink a lot of wine. Avoid the hard stuff.

Oy! I hope that you're feeling better today! After reading Terri's suggestion about the Nexcare bandages, I'm buying 'em! Burns are pretty common in my kitchen too!

The burn isn't all that bad. Hurt like the dickens yesterday but not so much today. Clive did get some of those moist healing band aids and they really are wonderful, thanks for the idea Terri.

As for the jam...Lee I tried your idea with the sheet pan and still came up with no glass. Clive was determined that I keep it and said he'd be careful when he eats it....I can't live with that; it will make me nuts. So I pitched it : (

The back is still not good.....for the life of me I can't figure out how I threw it. Oh well ice, Aleve and wine seems to help! LOL

Thanks again for all your good thoughts. Today has been much better!!! I'm using my back and burn as an excuse to do nada! LOL
