Not such a good day

Started out well, went to the farmers market which was overflowing with fresh local produce...even Ontario Sweet Corn and Field tomatoes! Doesn't get better than that...I was a very happy camper.

Not sure how I managed it but I threw my back out while getting out of the van.....weird I know and I can't explain it but it really hurts when I move from sitting to standing. So I decided to stay standing.

Had a dozen farm fresh eggs from a few weeks ago that I felt should be boiled up for egg salad, deviled eggs, spinach salad etc....to make room for the new dozen I bought! LOL

Well, while draining them , I somehow screwed up and splashed the boiling water out of the pot and down my front. Not a really serious burn but it still hurts like hell. The blister is about 2 inches wide, fairly superficial but it's going to be very raw when it drys and sheds.

Of course not one to be doing one thing at at a time, I was also making raspberry jam. Be damned if the candy thermometer didn't break, just at the tip, so only a small amount of glass is in there somewhere! I hate to pitch the jam, it's gorgeous and raspberries aren't cheap, but it's impossible to find the glass. I've been trying all afternoon.

Clive say we can keep the jam, just don't give it to anyone and he'll watch carefully every time he spreads it on his toast........I don't think so.

It's only 2:30 but I think I need a glass of wine and my bed! LOL
