Wow.

Have you heard it?

Warning: It will bring tears to your eyes.

If it doesn't, you have NO heart or soul.

George Strait amazes me.

He just keeps coming up with wonderful songs and he makes it look so effortless! Other entertainer these days need smoke, and fire, and yelling, and screaming...and he doesn't.

He just stands there in his starched button downs and *sigh* Wrangler jeans, trophy buckle and cowboy hat and sings...his heart out.

The words are beautiful. I seldom listen to country music and haven't heard it yet. I'm wondering if this is in memory of his daughter who was killed in an auto accident? Since he's singing about a baby girl.

OMGosh, thank you all! You are all such an inspiration...what wonderful ideas! I really bought it for outside... and today I found a great spot for it. (I sure was tempted to keep it inside after reading some of the postings). I knew that I needed to put it on the house in a spot where you can see it real well! So my DH pounded some cement nails in for me. I have a walk-out basement with a garage. So it is in-between the big garage door and a window in the cement block. It will be awesome when decorated. I went ahead and stained the wood today for protection (winter around the corner) ... and I'm keeping an eye out for some metal containers to put conifers in the 2 circle holders (hopefully cone-shaped) ... and also lots of pines, nuts & berries. I will send a pic when it's done. Might even use some little lights and run a cord into the garage. Thanks so much for the feedback. Jeanne S. p.s. It was a $15 flea market purchase...the lady had marked down her stuff half-off on the last day...I fell in love with it...thinking I'd put it on my garden shed.

Here is my haul for the year minus the 3 in the pic last week. There are a few more small ones that I'm leaving on the vines until Wednesday. The biggest ones aren't easy to see. They aren't gigantic, but still pretty heavy to move around. The one on the bottom right is the one that fell. It didn't rot, but it never got a chance to "peanut" up. LCarlonine: glad your sales picked up and it's a good thing you have all that help from your little ones :-) I can't imagine how tired I'd be if I had to harvest all of yours. And I had to laugh at your post about trying to see the pumpkin growing in the compost pile. There was just a thread about a month ago on the Cactus forum about someone seeing a different kind of Agave growing and he had to turn around to get a better look. Turned out that it was made of metal. Then I was really laughing when I saw the same metal agaves for sale at my local grocery store that same weekend. The year I got my 100# pumpkin (pretty good for the hi desert). My neighbor spotted it from a field away and had to come to see what that big yellow thing was. We went down this weekend, I think it was the longest trip of my life. Seemed like we would never get there. I just kept praying that I did not loose them all. I think Albert must have been looking over them, nothing was affected by the cold, not even the tomotoes and peppers. I just lost a lot of sleep, worrying. Barb

Saw the whole thing and recorded it too. I applaude what he did... but remember... Adam is one smart guy and he was really wanting to shock the world and entertain too. He has been trending on Twitter for over 24 hrs now...mission accomplished! He'll be on GMA and singing a different song on Wed morning and Letterman Wed night. I think you will see a different Adam then. I recieved my pre-ordered album today and it really does have something for everyone on it. The press he's recieved today is really good, the album is already hitting #1 on Amazon and almost as high on iTunes. There will be lot's of Adam on the radio soon! He's amazingly sexy and the voice.... too bad the AMA had audio problems last night.

Awww, that's a great song Lori. I LOVE George. I guess I could say without hesitation that he's my favorite C & W artist. I never get tired of his music or voice. Good question MaryAnn.

I haven't heard the song but all he has to do is stand there looking all cute and I'm happy! LOL

I haven't heard it yet either. But I haven't had the radio on lately. Sounds like a winner to me though.

I haven't heard that one yet, but know I will love it. George Strait has been a favorite of mine for more than 20 years. They don't come any better than that one. He's proof that the public can love a star who isn't into the alcohol/drugs/party scene--and he's been married forever to his high school sweetheart. I just love him and his music!

I love George Strait, haven't heard this song yet but I don't listen to any country stations. Maybe I need to buy his latest CD. He's coming to Lexington in a week or so. I didn't buy tickets. I'm trying to get out of debt...maybe next time, George. I do have two of his "hits" CDs in the car I listen to all the time, though. He's one of the few country people I still listen to.

I have to admit that even though I'm not into Country music, I do love and admire George. When he is in concert in San Antonio it is almost impossible to get tickets. I tried to get 2 tickets online the last time he performed there and was at the site minutes before they went on sale and still wasn't fast enough. It sold out in a couple of minutes!

A couple that I know from here were celebrating their anniversary, so they closed off both ends of the street by their house for a street dance and invited half the town. They hired George for the music. LOL Yes, that was quite a few years ago when he lived just 45 miles away. In fact he might have still been in college at the time. Everyone liked him, but no one knew what a star he would become!

I haven't heard that one. I saw George Strait a couple of times at the Houston Livestock Show and his concerts are great.

I'm not a fan of country music generally, but I looked up the song because the lyrics were nice.

I wondered the same thing MaryAnne.
The press certainly respect the Strait family and their privacy. His daughter's death was and has been very very private.
