Size for a light in a two-story stairway

I am trying to determine the appropriate size for a chandelair/pendant in a two story stairway. The ceiling height at the bottom of the stairs is 16 feet. The ceiling height at the top of the stairs is 8 feet. The light is to be centered above the 5th step, so I'm estimating the ceiling height at that point to be about 13-13 1/2 feet. The area is 6 1/2 feet from side to side and 16 feet from front to back. The light I have fallen in love with comes in two sizes 19diam X 42h or 16diam X 28h.

I feel like the smaller one is probably too small, both in height and width. The larger one seems like the width might be workable, if slightly on the small side, but I am concerned that it is too long. Can anyone advise me and/or suggest a size which might be appropriate for this space?

What light is it? Is it in an entry? b/c if its hanging for 13.5 its not in the stairs. If its in an area that you walk under the 42" is going to look a little massive and on the other the side the smaller is going to look undersized. Let me know what light and what company i'll see if i know of any other ideas that look like what your looking at.

The area is a stairway/entryway. The stairs are 42ins. wide and are against the righthand wall as you enter the front door. There is an additional 36in of open space to the left of the staircase. The way the light box is presently hung, it looks like the light will be centered on the railing, but placed forward from center, toward the lower part of the stairs, which is how I get the 13ft height. I wish I could explain it better, but it's an odd space. Anyway, the light I am looking at is a Sea Gull Lighting fixture. It's from the Somerton Collection, #51376-839. Please keep in mind that this light, which I've seen on-line for around $500, is at the very top of my budget.

I wanted to post some after photos and thank everyone who took the time to comment. It turns out that the wall was "indented" when we removed the chair rail so my DH has spent several weekends to build it back up with joint compound and texture it to blend in with the walls. It was a painfully tedious process (first trying to do it by hand, then with a sponge, then with spray-on compound that dribbled everywhere, and finally with a trowel lightly loading dabs of compound on). If you look closely you can still tell, but it's not as glaring as it was several iterations ago. Suffice to say, we are thrilled to be done with sanding, priming, texturing, and painting! Now, I need to figure out what wall decor to put up as the removal of the chair rail makes it a much easier space to deal with! Any and all advice would be appreciated. I was thinking of doing a photo gallery near the front entry, but that is a HUGE wall and I don't know that I can put photos high enough where you can still see them but not so low that the wall looks off-balance. Forgive the quality of the photos, taken without a flash on my iPhone.

Two story, 20 ft foyer lighting help needed

We are currently building a new home with 24 ft ceilings in the kitchen, it has been so hard to find lights that are long enough without splicing the wires for extra length. Take a look at Feiss brand fixtures, most come with 180" cord and you can buy the proper chain length from any lighting store if needed. AllModern is a site that has a search by hanging length which is great as well. I have read that the ideal width will be the dimensions of the room added together, example a 15 x 15 room would be best fit with a 30" wide fixture. There are other theories on this as well but this is the simplest.

ok take a look at Hinkley Lighting.....the Casa collection....they have a few more sizes and its a similar look....also Savoy house may have some things for you.....email me with what you like but they have a few things that are similar to that
