OMG-Those are wonderful! We brought my parents to live with us and in order to make room for everybody's everything, I got rid of a lot of my stash. Also, a lot of stuff is packed up in a storage shed. Looking at these pics of yours, I've got to get out to those boxes and see what I have left as I'm sure I kept a couple of my old candle holders. I went looking last week at a couple of Salvation Armys specifically for crackled glass globes. Everyone must have the same idea because there wasn't a single one to be found. I have two 8" crackle globes (was hoping for a third to make a totem candle holder) I was saving for whatever came to mind and now that I see your pic, I know what I want to do with them--Thank you!

Actually, the globes don't bother me at all. I like their vintage look. The house was built mid 80's and they were new then. It's the base that bothers me, and wondering if a more modern look would even be noticed by a buyer. I'm thinking not, at least not on a first walk through. I don't even know what the style of our house is. 1980's basic brick ranch.

They are the 1969 originals. The hallways of my buildings have the fixed rod version in many of the hallways, from 1965. They are a relatively unobtrusive way to get pendant lighting when historically appropriate ones would be prohibitively expensive. These have been problematic because they get knocked out of whack I did the currently available cheap version in a project a couple years ago:

And they've already shipped. Guess the QS (Quick Shop) designation is not a joke. So glad that's over. But also glad you guys are willing to bounce ideas around. Mayflowers' Capitol fixture definitely gave me pause, less $$$ too. The decider was the greater wattage potential in the Thurman. Basically, that was it.
