Open floor plan - can I mix color temp?

I have an open floor plan where the kitchen, breakfast nook and family room are all one big space. I am in the process of replacing the existing recessed lights with Cree CR6 LEDs.

I am debating between the 2700k and 3000K version, and wondering if it would be ok if I put the 3000K in the kitchen area, and put the 2700K in the dining/family room area.

Is that a no-no? Any other suggestions welcome.

It is your home so you should do what you like. Personally, I'd put 5000K everywhere.

Both are considered a "warm white" and truth be told, I'm not sure that you would notice a significant difference between the two. Wondering why you are planning on mixing the two different temperatures though rather than just sticking with one, though.

If you are going to mix them, I'd suggest getting the two and putting them in to see if the difference bothers you.

I agree with a gray, although finding an approprite one to tie all the elements of your open concept together will take some trial and error. And a lot of sample paint on the walls! A pale taupy gray that is good as a neutral is Edgecomb Gray by BM. For "True" pale gray tones, you could also try SW Agreeable Gray or Silverpointe Its a great room, love the windows and beams!

I am in the middle of a whole house reno. I wanted to paint the kitchen cabinets and the attached crown gray, but the kitchen opens to the living room, which will have white box paneling and also white crown like the rest of the house. There is a corner where the two rooms meet (a recessed bar niche between the living/kitchen. I don't love the idea of two colors of painted crown meeting up, is there a good way to do this? Or does anyone have a picture of a similar situation? I have seen stained cabs/meeting with painted and that looks ok but two different paints seems like a bad idea. I can't seem to find any photos of this situation. Kitchen is the the right, bar niche to the left with the pretty white pipe running through it, living to the far left. (Dining is through the cased opening with window) My current thought is to do the bar area cab/crown white and extend the white over the tiny bit of wall between that and the kitchen. Then the gray kitchen cabs would start on that wall to the left of the wires. Thank you!

My small master bath is painted Philadelphia Cream and I've hated it forever. A small sample on the wall looked so creamy and innocuous but four tall walls (9-ft. and vaulted beyond) in a small room make it nearly pulsate. I've been meaning to repaint for ages.

basically have new tile where you have this tile, and wood flooring where you have the cork? yes you can. But it would be more cohesive to wood throughout. Or, do the entry way w/the tile, and blend it w/the hardwood. or, can you section off just the kitchen and do the tile there? coming in from the entry way w/the wood, you could blend it w/the tiles in the kitchen. similar to this (that cork actually looks nice! w/the right furniture and accessories, and adjoining tile, it would look a lot better

I see, I didn't realize there was not enough difference between these 2. What about using 2700k in living vs 3000k in the kitchen?

Basically I am curious to know it's ok to blend the different temps in what is essentially one room. I think in my white kitchen I would prefer a whiter temp but not in the living area.

We have a similar situation with our kitchen/great room. Kitchen portion is a combination of 4100K fluorescent, slowly being replaced by 5000K LED. The great room portion has a bunch of incandescent BR40s in sloped ceiling cans, and some 3000K MR16 accent lights on the walls. When I replace the BR40s with LED versions, I am definitely going to use 3000K. (E.g., with something like the TCP LED12BR40D30K.)
