type of wood for shaker-style cabinets

We're trying to decide between cherry, maple, and yellow pine for our kitchen cabinets, which will be unstained. We have douglas fir floors (no stain, but will have a few coats of poly) and concrete countertops (grey with some stones -- earthy colors -- mixed in). In an effort to save some money, the cabinets will have maple plywood centers, the original thinking was that a maple hardwood frame would kind of match better. But I really like the look of natural cherry because it seems a bit warmer than the maple. I think, though, that it gets darker as it ages so there will end up being a contrast between the frame and maply ply center. We just looked at a couple of pieces of yellow pine and that seems interesting, but a bit dark. Any thoughts or opinions?
